Steering pulling off

Featured Replies

Not sure if it is a coincidence,

The steering was pulling off to the left in my felicia so i changed the two front wheels for completley different ones, now it doesnt seem to pull as much but is still pulling to the left.

Thing is, if you allow the steering wheel to sit straight (as in with straight according to the badge in the centre as your looking at it) the car veers to the left but the steering seems to be not pulling any further.

Is this another problem that needs attention or is it the wheels/tyres?

nearside front brakes binding ?.......

Not sure what you mean?

Brakes not releasing fully, causing that wheel to be partially braked all the time. Could also be wheel alignment, which is where I would look first.

Where do i begin?

Also, the fact that the steering whee,l if held straight, allows it to veer to the right i am thinking wheel alignment but it has been the same but to a lesser degree on two sets of wheels.

one of the front brakes sticking on / binding will pull the car to one side.raise each front wheel in turn and see if the wheel spins freely with just a slight resistance...if ok i would have the tracking checked .....are the old tyres worn on one side ? this would indicate tracking out.....how does the car drive on rough surfaces,if it jumps to the left or right when bouncing over the vast amount of pot holes on our roads this is another sign of incorrect tracking

another thought.....does it pull too the side on first start up or is it after you have used the brakes a few times ?

You have to check first your toe-in angles.

"Struggling felicia" as your car type doesn't help giving you exact numbers for toe-in.
