(Looks like it gets used as 2 carraigeways as on coming cars/vans overtake each other in their lane, OK.)

I take it Double White lines there have a different meaning,

or are exactly the same as here and do not cross, but wide double lane has not line.

or was that driver of the vehicle with the camera just being a Road Captain and trying to stop overtakers.

I don't know Russian highway code, if there is such a thing? But if that truck in front is travelling at the speed limit, I would suggest that the camera car is just taking a position for best view.

At least in that position she can see any nutter driver coming the other way. :8-/

No idea if behind the Lada that crashes, there is another vehicle inside the Camera car.

But as the Lada has the crash the Camera car/bus/lorry or whatever it is,

goes out across the double white line, no pulling into behind the vehicle in front or towards the verge,

adds to the collision, as i see it.

No avoidance taken.

Looks like the camera vehicle was already going (accelerating) for a very wide overtake of the bus and continued in that action and was so unaware of what was happening, continued or was trying to shut off the Lada.

Looking at the vid again, the height of the camera would suggest its in a truck or coach.

Going for the overtake and as he's already in correct position to do so, which is maybe why he was there in the first place?

Impossible to tell as the video starts when the truck is already in that position.

He may have been wide but still on his side of the road, just.

As far as not taking avoiding action, i think he did.

I suggest that the camera truck moving left is a direct result of the lada coming through the gap.

The truck is steering left in avoidance of that. He then has a split second to react to the collision, which he does by braking.

Evidenced by the distance from the truck in front increasing quickly.

Yes i can see where you are coming from.

Makes me look closer and wonder what the vehicle is. Looks too wide for an overtake and possibly was another bus.

Still looks to me like a 'Road Captain', doing or trying to shut the gap to stop an undertaker & the Lada went for it still.

We will probably never know.

WOW! Suddenly all our undertakers, middle lane sitters and tailgaters don't seem so bad. Surely he could see the gap closing and could have dropped behind the filming vehicle?

He does climb out rather quickly and easily which I find quite surprising

Unbelievable that he managed to walk out pretty unscathed. Crazy.

Watching these accidents shows how easily things can go wrong.....probably helped along with a few vodkas I reckon.
