Just joined the Skoda world. I known it's the wrong time of year to do it but just traded in a Disco 3 for an Octavia elegance estate. 26.8 mpg getting there, 54.7 coming back the same way. Seems to be a great car. the wife take Think I'll need winter tyres though as the wife drives this 50 miles to work from Teesdale to Newcastle over moorland roads.

Hello locsuna and welcome along

My winters are going on this weekend as they're better when the temperature is below 7 degrees regardless of whether there's snow or ice on the ground but if there is then they give better traction too.

There's plenty of discussions about winter tyres and wheels and usually suitable rims for sale in the for sale section on here as well as advice on outside suppliers but, you'd need to register as a Freedom member to get acces to the for sale section. As for the posts just do a quick serach for 'winter tyres' and you'll get lots of info

Hi Locsuna am new too, Octavia MK1 VRS owner since May and proud to be! All these badge snobbers can go to hell, when you have VW Audi engineering what makes sense to go out and buy a car with the same engine and build quality but 10-12k more.My mates just bought a Lexus IS200 2003 plate and reckons in better than a VRS?? Yes i admit the IS is a nice car but its a Toyota with extras.

Hi and welcome aboard.
