Cone in a box

Featured Replies

Anyone using a cone in a box?? Tempted to get one but just wondered if they made any difference in power or sound or am I best off just getting some silicone pipe and fit the pipercross induction kit I've got laying about pointed down in the airbox by the air inlet like they do on the mk4 golfs

you dont really get more power if any from a modified air intake just a cooler turbo

Is there any noise difference? Apparently with a induction kit you get a roar and a slight dump valve type noise on lift off. Don't know wether to just stick a panel filter in??

Looks for the Group1RS/MrsGroup1RS thread with the Fabia vRS SE, they've got a cone in a box.

well there is a noise difference, but when i just did a cone filter there also was a fuel difference it ate more, you might come across the same difference

I am currently making my own cone in a box just for something to do. I can see me just using a panel filter again though as i cant see any real benifits at the moment.

Quite a few of the highly tuned Ibiza TDi boys run jetex paper cone filters if I remember right.

Speak to t spark

T spark runs a Honda S2000 paper cone I think

I am running a cone in the box from jabba sport there doesn't seem much different to me I only went for it due to my filter looking like this nesateqa.jpg

I've been thinking about one but not really worth it for the cost. Could be something to try an make my own though just like Joe.

Save your money and stick to the standard filter.

If you have a hybrid turbo or similar output larger frame turbo = possibly

If you have the standard KKK tiddler = no!

I used the Jetex FR-08001 cone filter, and a couple of the big turbo guys do too. Sounded awesome :D Not sure what T Spark uses though :)

T spark uses a S2000 paper cone

I have one, with a 160 intake theres a bit more roar but then mines mapped and will be sucking more air

Where can u get a cheap boxed cone filter from? PD160 intakes are rediculously priced!!!....

So if u can get an internal cone with a nice big custom inet ull be laughing...?? ...No??
