MAF sensor custom intercoolers

Featured Replies

Thats a MAP sensor bud ;) Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor...

MAF sensor is the Airmass meter (Mass Air Flow meter)

And the MAP sensor u need is that one from darkside 3bar... u can also get them from the main dealers if u use the part num off the darkside one :)

isn't the standard PD130 MAP sensor 3bar? why would you need to change the MAP sensor when you change the intercooler?

No the 130 MAP sensor is 2.5 or 2.7bar.. cant remember which but its less than 3 bar :/... its more to do with if u fit a bigger turbo + fmic... u will need a 3 bar to up the boost (when remaping) ;)

Wrong. Fabia and golf platform pd130/150/160 is 3bar. Think it's the passat platform (and pd100) which is 2.5bar.

My bad ^^^ checked ETKA this morning + vrs does have a 3 bar MAP sensor... the problem is trying to remove said MAP sensor from the intercooler...

What usually happens is the rusty old posi screws tgat hold the MAP sensor into in IC snaps off in the plastic intercooler housing or just disintergrates with rust :(...

u will obviously have to either remove it or buy a new one so u can fit it to the "custom" pipework when fitting a FMIC (which wont have the MAP sensor fitted).. hense darkside sell so many ;)
