Rubber car mats

Featured Replies

Hey all,

1.8 TSI 61 plate owner here.

I am looking to replace the official carpet mats i have with rubber ones and have been recommended these:

http://www.ambassadorcarmats.co.uk/

However, on looking at their site there is no mention of Superb mats; anyone know if you can buy from them? Also, they mention colour schemes to your choice, i was only after black ones!! Has anyone had any design scheme done they can recommend?

Lastly, any other places to buy from?

I looked at them and was planning on buying until someone mentioned the official ones were not very good (or were they just referring to the carpet ones?)

If you think the official rubber ones are fine to use, i will buy them (Horton's is my local dealer anyway).

The Skoda carpet ones aren't upto much - bit flimsy, although mine at still OK @ 28k miles in.

Can't see any problem with the official rubber ones.

I have Ambassador carpet mats in my Superb so they have the pattern , best to give them a call really

The genuine rubber mats with the lipped edge are very good, changed them over from my last Superb to my new one, they have been in constant use now for 3 1/2 years. I will though be changing them this year as the drivers mat is showing signs of wear, i.e. the shiny finish has worn away under the heel, the passenger mats are as good as new.

Rubber ones - top notch B)

I've got the Genuine Skoda rubbers ones and they are excellent quality.

WellI cant really comment on the rubber mats or how long the carpet mats will last in the superb but the last Octavia mats I had were ok they lasted about around 12 months in my car before they wore through. But that 12 months was 50,000 miles of driving.

Moreover they don't stink like cheap ones - worth £30 I paid :giggle:

I have some rubber ones in my Octavia, they are brilliant, plus they don't hold water like the carpet ones so you have less issues with misting up if you mop the water off the rubber ones before leaving the car. (If you are a bit a nal like me)

Yep genuine rubber on my Superb. They have stood the 21k since March very well. The get a daily battering from our passengers as it used for executive private hire (fancy taxi) use. I've also got some self adhesive carpet protector from flebay which has been great aswell.

Genuine rubber matts are pritty decant. When there dirty just a spray of Megs APC and a soft brush to foam up and agitate the dirt then rince off with the hose and there like new.
