VRS Leather

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm new here so I'm trying to do some research. If the leather interior is factory chosen should it be heated? I know it is in VWs.

No. Separate options

Also the VW equivelant (9n/ 9n3 polo) you can have leather without heated + vice-versa... to get heated in a VW u have to have the "winter pack" ;)

Unheated leather is terrible in winter! (Had it in the 3 series, removed them quickly for cloth seats before the cold kicked in.)

Heated is nice in the winter though (RX-8), but they're both unpleasant in hot weather!

VAG seat heaters are like ovens though! Had them in the Golf and they are properly powerful. To my knowledge, leather wasn't an option on the non-SE Fabias anyway, so any with it would have been retrofitted.

Factory fitted leather was never available on any Mark 1 Fabia.

It became a dealer-fitted option on the vRS model only, sometime in 2006 - it's included in the May 2006 price list with as "TBA", but by October the price of £1,300 was showing. This includes for the 4 seats only (ie not the door cards).

The Fabia vRS SE had the seating upgrade carried out by Skoda UK after landing - and it was a fixed-spec model and didn't have seat heating as standard.

Personally I see no problem in the winter re the absence of seat heating. I had it in my previous car (previous to the 2004vRS) and hardly used it. After all once the seat's warmed up you've driven several miles and then it just overheats that part of your anatomy!

Apologies but I've lost the attribution to this photo so can't say who provided it originally - here's the seat change in progress:

EDIT - found it - with the help of Google - it was S41NT - check out http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/68166-uk-ltd-edition-fabia-pics/#entry824092 which has further pictures for you to ogle.
