I need a new flip key

Featured Replies

I've just about had it with the remote key I've currently got. Got the two button one with the curved buttons, and it's at the point where it barely ever works. Sometimes it'll be absolutely fine, then all of the sudden it won't do anything meaning I have to lock / unlock manually which is a pain in the arse when the alarm blows every time I do so, and I have to start the car just to get into the ******* boot!

So here's the question, where's a good place to get a new key programmed, and would it be possible to have one of the newer square, 3 button keys programmed, and if not, a round 3 buttoned key?

It's quite high on the list of priorities this one, the alarm gets me enough unwanted attention at the moment.

Any one with vagtacho or vag commander shud reprogram keys and u should be able to use newer keys not 100% on that though

U can code a 3 button one so long as its a 1J part number not a 1K... iv got a brand new gen one on order from china + will let u know if the fob codes ok.. it does come with a key but im just guna use my old key + the new one for the fob only ;)... only £33.99 delivered off the bay :)

just out of curiosity, have you tried a new battery? You didn't mention. CR25 IIRC.

I had a spare key cut for my vRS, which has the three button flip key. After phoning independent locksmith's it was literally only £10-20 dearer to get it from Skoda, which I did in the end.

It cost about £130 if I remember correctly. Though I'm sure there are cheaper ways of doing it.

Yeah it's had two new batteries. It was iffy when I got it so got a refurb kit, it was great at first and has gradually got worse until eventually nothing :(

Okay so that one didn't work, it's already been sent back and another one of different code on it's way once received (cannot rate this seller enough if you ask me!).

My remote code is HLO 1J0 959 753 AA. What other remotes would work? Ideally I'm after a 3 button one, 1J0 959 753 B didn't work.

Problem solved :) New remote arrived today and working perfectly, if anyone needs any remotes or anything I'd highly suggest key_service on eBay, great guy and service. Now I need to consider the mod where I can open the boot fully with it, as holding the middle button down unlatches it :D
