What could it be?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Just wandering whether its me or the car :/ I'm not getting very good mpg at the moment (around 40 to the gallon) and also there seems to be a decrease in power around 3000-4000 rpm the car is main dealer serviced every 10000 miles (last service 5000 miles ago) any ideas?

Thanks Chris

MAF sensor maybe? Any other symptoms? Lumpy idle, rough starting, delayed/sluggish acceleration, stalling easier?

Nope none of the above mate she running fine other than what's in the first post :/ I was thinking maf sensor but then maybe not :/

Could be a number of things. Simplest would be a filter clogged, air or fuel.

Check your air filter, unplug your maf sensor and go for a drive, the car drives the same then your maf is knackered, check for boot leaks aswell!

Temp sensor possibly, although you say you dont have a lumpy idle.

What is it when the car starts a bit rough and snakey?

**shakey
