Another two Skoda household!

Featured Replies

My father-in-law died recently (aged 96), with the result that my wife no longer needs to trek across the Pennines week in, week out in all weathers to visit him. We therefore decided that my wonderful Yeti fulfils our 4x4 needs and that we should dispose of her Suzuki SX4 for something much smaller and more economical. As a Skoda fan, the Citigo was top of the list and today we went to look at, and test drive, one at MSB Darlington. Result - we have ordered a white 3-door Elegance with cruise control/parking sensors! We concluded a satisfactory p/x deal, saw a 3-door white Citigo (but only S trim) in the showroom which convinced us that the 3-door model in white looked really smart. We were told to expect delivery in early January, but I suspect that may be optimistic having read some of the threads on this site's Citigo owners' section.

So, roll on the new arrival - I think it's a cracking little car for the money and should be an admirable companion for the snow monster and a good alternative for when we don't need so much space or the 4x4 capability (ie Teso shopping!).

Sorry to hear about your loss. But welcome the new baby Skoda, that car is so much more than the sum of its parts. If I could justify/afford a second car again the Citgo would be very high on the list.

A lot of people seem to be running a Yeti and a Citigo.

Sensible companions it seems. :)

Your FIL made a great age, HMIB, must be the excellence of the environment up your way. Good wishes to those now missing him.

You don't need to be told you live in a gorgeous part of the world and one in which we've had wonderful times walking the hills and enjoying food and hospitality....(the Dales Way was our most enjoyable walk - more so than the Pennine Way which was a bit more of a challenge than a pleasant three week walk on the hills).

So enjoy every moment of your time up there in the Yeti - and now in the tiddler. Having had two drives in the Citigo I'm not sure it isn't just a bit too low for my hips and knees, hence the higher riding i10 (with a cushion) as a second car and will hang on to it for a while but did like it and very much see the appeal...... (didn't like the bare paint on the doors and in the boot though and didn't fall in love with the ASG automated box when I drove it). Still find the Yeti a real peach though. Cracking thing.

Biggest problem is choosing which one to drive

Who ever said women are indecisive? Swmbo has just changed her Citigo order to the 5-door model, having decided it will be more practical and (most important, of course) it looks 'nicer'! Not a bad thing actually, as in doing so we discovered an error in the calculation on the order form which meant we had been overcharged by £310, so upgrading to the 5-door has only cost us £40 above what we were originally told (which was a good deal anyway).
