just starting to try and do a deal to buy a monte carlo at my local dealers,having a dilema over colour as they can get me a black one in 3-4 weeks but its a 12 week wait for the red which is the one i want, but the black is tempting. also the red would be the new registration. mmmmm

Hello there people, being new to this really do not know where to start, but in the next week or so off hunting for the Octavia VRS 10 plate version and wanted to know people's choice of either the petrol or diesel? i can imagine the diesel is better on fuel which maybe good to a certain point but i am sure if you drive the petrol one carefully that to can be good on fuel?

Can some one help me please .

Is ther much point buying a petrol vRS then driving it carefully? official figures put the deisels about 13mpg better tho if you're giving the TFSI the beans I suspect the 37mpg quoted in the brochure would be wildly optamistic, tho petrol owners would be able to supply you with more accurate numbers. Petrol's double the cat tax and 2 insurance group higher too if that's important to you. Give em both a test drive and see which one suits you best

Don't forget to buy the proper Octavia Vrs, petrol, TSi and with the DSG gearbox. Has to be Yellow, ( the car not the gearbox )

On a steady run I can get into the low 40's around town 25/27 mpg

I don't worry about MPG as I only do 3 or 4 thousand miles a year .
