Pipercross filter or oem ?

Featured Replies

My car was fitted with a pipercross panel filter had a look black as hell sticky and caked in oil couldn't see any light through it at all. Was debating to clean but went for genuine own filter instead

Good decision or best off cleaning piper panel???

Just replace with oem paper one

I have done mate as looking up and seen a few threads on here people don't rate the pipercross because of too much oil ?? Is that right

Jaba sport cone in box or oem

Wouldn't touch any others

I had a piper cross in mine and had 2 MAF's go, When i changed it to a Genuine Paper one never had any problems

I've just replaced the paper filter with a K & N on the Felly. Seems a bit sharper/more responsive but time will tell how it fairs between servicing? I'm watching fuel consumption as if it suffers with the K & N back to paper I'll go.

I like k and n filters. I've had at least 6 of 'em over the years

on different cars and no problems at all. Just fitted one to

the S3. They've been around since God was a boy compared to

some other brands. So I'd agree with Jim H ^^^

Just use the official cleaner and oil (sparingly of course)

and follow the clear instuctions K and N provide on their website.

They are ready to go straight out of the box so you won't need to oil for a while.

40k is the suggested interval but half of that still gives you a fair while till

you need to muck about with it.

Or whack a new paper one in twice a year.

I use a pipercross one, no issues.

Cheers for that

The piper seemed a little more sharper but the oem seems a very little to run smoother only minor tho but every little helps would rather have reliability than power tbh
