Hi,

I'm new around here. I'm a relatively new convert to Skoda (8 years now) and have two 1.9TDi motors - a 59 reg Octavia est and an 04 Fabia est. Both have been very good but the Fabia is starting it's mid life crisis now (168k miles). I generally do my own maintenance as I find garages are often unhelpful (to say the least), incovenient, lacking knowledge/skill and expensive.

If you've no warranty to worry about and are handy with tools etc then DIY is the way to go :)
