Hi,

If you have a look at the thread under "Skoda Octavia owners / Skoda Octavia II (2004-2013) / started by blackspaven on the 28 Feb 2012 "FSI, TFSI, TSI WTF, FFS?!" this should give you the answer.

Oh, and welcome

ive seen that the swap from tfsi to tsi happened in 2010, i wonder which engine the vrs i want has. looks like i need a peek under the bonnet

Well my 2012 Superb shows on all documentation as 2.0 TFSI - confusing isn't it. At the end of the day, if you like the car and like how it goes, then it's the one for you.

yeah, think im just going to go for it !! loved the drive and the lovely interior. having never bought a skoda before i was really impresed with the service from the dealer, withing ten mins of looking at the vrs i was out driving it.

just hope at the age/mileage/ spec im getting a good deal

It's hardy run in yet. I got mine from Caffyns at Tunbridge Wells, found them an excellent company to do business with.

Hello Scott and welcome along

seems like a reasonable price as my local dealer has a 1 owner 59 plate with 16k on the clock for a grand more, though milage is a tad on the high side at 30K, though not massively so which won't be a problem if your annual milage isn't high and it's probably more important how it's been treated- has it got a full Skoda service history including reciepts. How many owners has it had and were they private owner(s)? you haven't said what you're driving at the mo or what you're expectations are. I've got a CR vRS so can't say what the petrol one is like to own and live with and what the costs are like, though there's loads of petrol guys about who'll spill the beans if you ask! Has it been HPI'd to check there's no outstanding finance?

I hope you enjoy your vRS, whether it is this 1 you buy or another, they really are cracking cars. next up you'll get scribble syndrome!

Should be the new TSi as it's a FL model.

So no cambelt changes after 4 years, albeit there are rare occurrences of the timing chain slipping and causing the engine to eat itself. If it's serviced and looked after shouldn't be any issues.

I've had mine 4 days and love it.

Agreed the v5 of my 2012 Octy VRS states TFSI and it is most definitely a TSi CCZA unit in it.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Defiantly after a petrol, I currently drive a pug 107 that I got to save money while buying a house.

Before that I had a Leon FR.i only do about 5 k miles a year so the mileage shouldn't be a problem. It doesn't say in the description if it has xenons can you tell from a picture of the car ??

The dealership sold it to the first owner then bought it back off him two years later s the owner wanted a merc and skoda offered a higher cash price than merc did for part ex. Has dealer history and they said the would service it before I bought it.

I don't think so mate, normally official Skoda used listings are fairly accurate with options so if it's not listed I doubt it'll have them.

Looks like a good car from what you say-probably worth checking out what IMT has said regarding the cambelt and when Skoda recommend it should be changed and get it done if it's past it's change time or haggle if it's due in the next 12 months. I wouldn't know how to check if it had xenons, though if it did I would have thought they would have listed them in the ad as they're a good selling point. If not you can upspec the H7 dipped beam bulbs without spending a fortune and there's loads of advice on the forum, though I'd be wary of ebay as I got some which weren't any brighter or whiter than what was on my old 1.4 TSI- no need to do the H1's as well as both are on on 'high beam'. if it's on variable service interval you will probably need to consider changing to fixed/12 month/10000 miles due to low milage.

Enjoy.....

Yeah I will double check all the points raised.

Link?

That looks even better. I find the rear parking sensors a real plus- especially with the ironing board on the back.... If it was me I'd go for the best I could afford. If new is out of the question this looks the next best thing though again check it's history and service record, HPI etc and make sure it's not been crashed.

If you can afford it the second one looks a goodun. I recommend the rear sensors they've saved me a dink already.

Will go and check It out Wednesday and see what they can offer me !!! Buzzing a little bit, the vrs has really won me over

I'd go and see both and test drive the 2. see which dealer gives yoiu the better deal on your old 1 then use that as a bargaining lever on the 1 you want if the other offers you more- you've got nothing to loose by asking. Both dealers are listed in the dealer section in this forum so that'll be wirth checking out too. Just apity it wasn't a deisel (Only joking......)

best of luck and let us know how you get on
