Flaps On Flaps Off..........?

Featured Replies

someone suggested removing my mudflaps, just wanna get opinions on whether this would look good or not.

anyone got pics of theyres without em????????

Removed all 4 flaps from mine, no doubting that it looks much better. The arch curve lines are no longer broken up by bits of black plastic. Seems to freshen up the looks a bit. Maybe that's due to no cars really having flaps any more.

Plus removing the front flaps goes some way to preventing the normal build up of soil behind the arch liners.

It's easier to hit 160mph without mud flaps too.

personally the rears are needed as they look poo without. the fronts look ok but main reasont I put them on as mine didnt come with them is with bigger wheels they throw up crap off the road and it hits the bottom of the back doors where it flares out a bit and buggers the paint, not big on silver but on my black one...............

Off!

Not only do they look **** they also damage paintwork (mine did).

Car looks so much better without them.

Mine not damaged paint. Alwsys removed each year to clean tho.

They made a right mess of mine.

FLAPS ARE NOW OFF!! i quite like it, but i really need spacers on the front

I have just added some front ones to mine, genuine Skoda ones.

I like them. Plus its a dark colour do they blend well.

It's these that damaged my paint, keep an eye on them.

aye ive noticed mine has surface rust under where they were

I don't like them either....but prevents corosion at winter from salty roads.

trouble is i found alot of the salty water has been getting caught behind them and staying there not drying or getting cleaned.

in in favour of them being off, and washing regularly

I like my flaps, so there :moon:

Are you talking the same flaps we are?

I found there was tonnes of trappped mud behind me and then again behind the arch liner. Since removing them there is less build up as I think it can run off a bit easier with the water. My paint work is marked where they were as I think they were moving slightly and rubbing the paint. After much polishing and waxing its less noticeable now.

Flap off!

off.. i want to show off the stance no hide it behind flaps of much uglyness!

i also had paint damage behind them.

Put front ones on mine to hide all the stonechips on the leading edge of the arch

Given how much paint's been taken off the front doors, sills and arches from driving around without them I'd be an advocate of fitting them. Then again, I drive on country roads a lot so if you're a motorway muncher or town cruiser then you're probably not going to have the same issue!

They look so much better off in my eyes loved the look better once took mine off and binned them

The thread title just makes me think of this
