Exhaust

Featured Replies

Ive seen recently alot aff people going on about the mutterflectomy and i cant work out what the actual gains are (apart from the owl noise if people think its a gain very mixed opionions) but surely if you remove all the boxes cats etc from your exhaust (yes the turbo will spool better with the de-cat) you will loose back pressure thus makeing the car slightly slower or is this not the case

i was thinking same, but theres a few vids on youtube and a tuning company does it and it gives a little better! believe it or not. the car is a seat leon 1.9 fr 150

I don't think I feel any gains. Perhaps smoother up the rev range but that could mean it's gone down or up in bhp..

Personally its more for people acknowledging I'm blasting it. Least they know to get out the way or have a play.

The turbo generally creates sufficient back pressure itself IIRC

I thought with straight through exhausts you can over spool the turbo / get overboost?
