Less then two weeks of owning the blackline :(

Passenger side door speaker, fails under medium bass.

When in 1st & 2nd car hesitates under 2000rpm.

Also the paint on the spoiler has a bubble in to the edge where it comes to a point, I put my finger on it and the air bubble moved so if cracks it will not be very good.

I'm now concernd because I've had my windows tinted and roof wrapped they will be awkward when it comes to warrenty even though non of these faults could be caused with that I have had done......

Annoying really cars only 12 days old

Both purely manufacturing faults that should be rectified under warranty. What you have done will make no effect to these problems.

Good luck :)

12 days!!!! scary!!!

That bubble on the spoiler will be the lacquer coming off. Suddenly one day I noticed a fifty pence piece size bubble on mine, after a few weeks half of the lacquer had flacked off. Nice. Luckily a guy I work with does small respray jobs so sorted it for £60.

But defo should be a warranty job.

Scares me reading this as mine is 12 hours old .... Will have to keep a close eye on it

Why does it scare you?

Plenty of other people on here without issues!

To the op take it back and get it sorted dont let it tarnish your new car experience.

+1

Because quite a few have had issues , not just black lines but vrs 's. ..... What will be will be tho ... Loved the first drive of it .... Also have the week off to enjoy it and sort it out

I've had 3 from new over a 6 year period without any real problems. Two of those were remapped too.

The perception from reading forums like this will always be that a particular car suffers from problems because people generally post on things that are causing them trouble. All makes and models of car will suffer problems of some kind but it's usually limited to a small proportion of the overall numbers produced.

Check the autoexpress driver surveys for the last few years to see where Skodas come on reliability.

I have previously owned a make 1 octavia vrs without fault and as mk 1 fabia vrs , this did have a few issues .... I know skoda are a great make but I haven't ever spent this much on a car before so makes me a little nervous ( mainly as I'm not loaded so this makes a significant investment and will be my last car before retiring in just under 10 yrs )

I would be nervous too buying a new car then having issues wether you get it fixed under warranty or not these things should NOT happen on a car thats 12days old no matter what brand or how well they are in surveys.

Are we now at a point when we can expect all new cars to be perfect? Is quality control in 2012 that good?

I would tend to expect a couple of issues to occur with a new car. They are complex machines with thousands of components. If a manufacturer were able to get them all to work perfectly on every new car, I'd be amazed!

I can't even seem to get a kettle from Breville that works. On my third one now. And it has about 3 parts!

No these things should NOT happen but invariably from time to time they will. I am sure if you read the BMW forums you would find isolated instances of similar problems on brand new cars.

That's why you have a warranty - to fix manufacturing faults.

Perhaps your choice of music didn't help with the loudspeaker tho? :giggle:

My bass is reduced to -2 I don't listen to bouncing dance tunes, I'm a live lounge kind of guy. But when readio is on with a mixed variety of music I notice it.

I'm currently sat in the dealership now this is my only day off for two weeks can't think of a better place to sit lol.

They said they won't really be able to do much under short notice and ill have to book it in but they are giving it a glance over.

I'm staying optimistic coz I love the car and its perfect for my demands and needs.

I've had octavia is past and now got a new one so I do like them I just hope once the niggling fault is fixed then I won't need to come back here.

On another note the rapid seems popular in here. Also reasonably priced.

Shame to hear about these issues Sean. Fingers crossed they're fixed quickly for you.

And you can use the time waiting to update to update your signature and car info in your profile :p

yeh never buy a Breville kettle we had two both leaked straight out the box.

If you paying several thousand for a car and with modern equipment in building cars i would expect standards to be fairly high considering the prices of Skoda's are slowly creeping up.

Mine seems to be using a bit of oil running in half a litre in 600mls my previous Fabia 1.2 tsi dsg used none keeping my eye on it. Watch the crappy bonnet stay housing point on the bonnet my stay keeps falling down so i have stuck another one underneath all for a few pence saving .

Well first day of driving and all is good No squeaks rattles or breakdowns - all in all awesome

I'm actually quite jealous of everyone driving about in their Blackline's and enjoying them. Mine is now back at the dealers for the third time in less than four weeks of owning it. In fact, in those 4 weeks I've only had the use of it for about 10 days

Not only do the dealer not have a clue what the cause of the fault is and seem far from interested but now I cannot get any basic courtesy from Skoda UK who seem unable to return any calls let alone look into the issues. So, anyone that actually has a Blackline that is working properly, please enjoy it on behalf of those that are unable to.

stick with it, they are after all minor problems which if your dealer is any good will get fixed and it is a brill car on a brill deal. I've had 5 new cars in all, 2 Renaults, 1 seat and 2 Octys. None of them have been fault free (apart from the Blackline so far........) so faults on new cars are not unheard of and I never had any problems with them after (apart from the Clio which was just a bag of french merd- it was so flimsy the sunshine roof creaked as the chasis twisted going over the dropped kerb at the end of my drive. it never rusted 'cause there wasn't any metal in it! and as for the electrics......) Hope you do come back though to let us know when it's fixed and what sort of service you had. best of luck. Ade

They have ordered me a new door speaker,

Advised me to wait until the paint defect gets worse as when they repaint the spoiler it may come back worse as they are difficult to spray.

In regards to the engine fault he said they will put it on the computer and see if any fault codes come up.

Speaker sounds awful he said they also need to put it on computer to see if a fault code comes up for the speaker. I know it won't and I think he does so that's why I think he orderd speaker anyhow they must have a protocol to fallow

All sounding good and hope they sort it out quick then you can enjoy your car :)

Good luck.

Speaker is an easy fix can't imagine they will put up a fuss about this under warrenty.

Hesitation under 2000rpm - I think mine lacks a bit of oomph until about 2k but this is just down to it beeing a CR and not PD and i think will get better as the engine beds in and frees up a bit. Don't be scared to floor it a bit once the engine has warmed up its a VRS afterall i find this helps.

Paint bubble i wouldn't be happy with this or the excuse they have given i would insist that this work is carried out afterall its only 4 screws you could leave the spoiler with them. Painting is quite a specialist thing to get right ( What colour is it?)

Shouldn't worry about the mods as these are unrelated to the issues you have.

Colleague bought an 11 plate Volvo v50 on Saturday from local Volvo dealer. Was a demonstrator used by the service manager so they thought it would all be ok. Today engine management light came on and rear parking sensors aren't working. She's now got to take it back in this week. It's a real PITA if it's your car that has problems but it's not just a Skoda thing.

Sarge.
