  • Nice, is it faster than a fab ....... Wait, let's not go there !!

  • Lol

  • Not that much compared to previous wins when i looked it up, but a nice 4 figure sum Best thing about it was they are my EX girlfriends lottery numbers!!! The reason why the fabia was sold because we

A chap just down the road from me had one of these same as above but stock, with a Gruppe M carbon induction kit fitted, it sounded rather sexual!

They indeed are a lovely looking motor.

Oh dear I would be heart broken <\3 :(

Hi mate, hows the car going?

Just a couple of questions about your wheel refurb as I'm busy rubbing mine down!

The tack cloths - did you use these after every coat instead of wet sanding?

How many coats of primer, paint and lacquer did you use? Also is the simoniz primer a high-build type?

Is the lacquer quite strong? Im worried about when the tyres will be fitted as I dont want the paint to chip!

Sorry for the questions :D

Yeah he was completely gutted.

Good grief, is badger code for hooker? Lol. In all serious that looks a mess. Must have been heart broken.

Hey mate car going okay thanks. Bought a stage 1 exedy clutch , having it fitted when I have the 75k service done. Still undecided on LSD ATM though need to go out in a civic with one fitted to justify the money. How's yours?

Regards with the tack clothes, I used them after every coat yes. Helps keep dust and other bits off them for the next coat. :)

I used 3 coats of primer , 3 coats of spray and 3 coats of lacquer. The simonez can box deal was enough to do all 4 wheels! Unsure on what type the primer was dude?

My mate did the tyre fitting so he took alot of care when doing it :) he didn't mark anything. The lacquer is quote strong but I have noticed a few chips on the wheels already :( black marker pen ftw lol

Love those Type-R's. When V-Teching it, they are propper quick even standard! :)

Have you never driven a fabia?? :D

Yeah its going well mate, garage full of parts waiting to be fitted once I've saved enough money for an ecu, remap and the insurance! lol. Glad yours is going well, I went in a Rover BRM at Cadwell that has a diff fitted as standard and the way it left the corners was amazing, so much grip!!

Thanks for the reply on the wheels :) I'm busy getting all the parts together now. Im thinking of prepping and priming them with the tyres off, then getting the tyres put on then paint and lacquer them :)

That looks awesome :D you arnt going to japfest are you?

I reallly want to hear this, would be nice to see if it sounds better than my mates dc2 with a spooon n1

  • Author

Nah no japfest I'm afraid hate working shifts! Are you going? I want to get a video but need a mate to do the filming! Spoon is loud haha

Yrah....gonna be a fun drive down, yeah you always feel a bit akward asking a mate to stand somewhere while you drive by

Yeah its fecking liud, when sitting behind him you can hear every tiny bit of throttle adjustment, but it just sounds sooooo hollow and empty

I miss my Honda now... :(

Update. Not a biggy though.

Went to change my gearbox oil the other day and couldn't undo the top fill bolt lol. Joys of working on axel stands I suppose or I'm just a faggot (the latter tbh lol) so asked mike at r motion to use his muscles on it.

So today I went to r motion to see mike and ieuian and got straight to cracking on with a fuel filter change and gearbox oil change. The gearbox oil was jet black so needed doing. The fuel filter is fiddly as you need to replace small seals and o rings. All done within the hour and gear changes are feeling soooo good!

Nothing big planned for the car at the moment as saving for a mortgage. Hopefully be able to keep the car and have a house. Hoping :/

Any chance of ever seeing a video? :D

If someone could film for me yeah lol none of my mates really into cars so my mates would think I'm a sad ***** haha

Looks awesome mate, such a change from the standard picture on page 1!! What do you think of the ABP Eibachs? I'm toying with the idea of changing from my Tein S-Techs to them, but I think mine have a harder spring rate and know they handle really well so might just stay put!

I also finished my wheel project this weekend, inspired by your good self!
