Civic Type R EP3-Jackson Racing Supercharged

Featured Replies

A friend of mine had a CTR, Swapped it for an S2000, Really fantastic engineering. However, as a daily driver with the fuel consumption and very low torque figure a vRS fabia gets my vote. Shame about the tractor noise but hey, Cant have it all!

Very nice example!

I had a vrs before and I loved it to bits but stepping Into the honda and driving it is in a different league.

Yeah it does fit the engine bay very well cheers :)

Its a lot of work mate so i cant be bothered to do it again lol. Good man!! You'll see 240-250 bhp then :p Kpro yet? ;)

Bit of a step back - the guy who I was getting the parts off had his garage broken into last night and they nicked all the bits he was selling!!!

Money refunded - back to the drawing board lol. I'm thinking of going with the Japspeed mani though as someone is running 247bhp with one fitted so it must run the power!

Received my RBC though (different seller) and has no gaskets - typically I missed the one you were selling :( haha

Whaaaat thats gutting man :( Those were decent modifications too!

Ive heard a lot of good things with the japspeed manifold. Decent price too! Like you said it also makes good figures.

Thats gutting man i literally posted it out today lol :(

I know! I got another AEM off the forum though for a decent price anyway :) and will probably go for the Japspeed manifold!

Haha typical! I need a throttle body gasket too.

So once I get the Japspeed I just need the k100 then I'll be off to tdi!

Good lad let me know how you get on !

I just dropped the car off to my mates body shop to have some paintwork done on the rear bumper:)

Couple of things to add.

Replaced the battery, kept on having to charge it weekly so i got my wallet out and eventually bought a new one from Honda. Fitted it earlier.

Looking good mate! You chipped your newly refurbished wheels?? Yellow calipers look great behind them :)

Im having second thoughts about the AEM I've bought - now on the hunt for a Teg M :D so if you see one let me know please! haha

  • Author

nah not chipped mate just dirt on them, needs a clean, black wheels is a stupid choice of colour grrrr...

Get a teg m dude, no risk of hydro lock :p There will be one for sale on the civictype-r forum monday. A lad is breaking his JRSC type r so lots of goodies will be up for sale :p

I have a black car so I know what you mean haha!

Ooo really? Not you is it?? Lol. Do you know him?

Epic, love the fact it looks standard. Nice build thread.

Nice! I love my jap cars

Im currently building a 2.3, 13:1 compression, Kinsler throttle bodied Honda engine to drop into a crx when i find one!

Estimated hp: 300+

Estimated Tq: 230+

All this will be coupled to an Integra type R gearbox with a 4.7 Final drive.

Fun times will be had!

Is that the 'Frankenstein' engine I heard my mate briefly talk about, where you swap part of the engine with one from an accord to give you a bigger cc? I could be talking out a hole in my head though lol.

I've heard great things about that gearbox though :)

Sounds like an epic build , get a thread started!!

Both of you keep up the good work!

LSD is coming soon. Should make a difference !

Nearly mate! your mate is on about the K24 Frank, Civic type R base merged with Accord bits, Deadmau5 you should get into the K24 swap or frank, id happily build you one, with the JRSC on

The build i have is the same principle but with the older (personally better) engine's, Iv taken a 2.2 prelude engine and chucked a 95mm stroker from another Honda engine (F22) in, giving it a displacement of about 2.3 with 87mm pistons, couple that up to some high compression pistons and ITB's, Shabang!

I just need a shell for it as all civics die from rust.

That sounds absolutely mental haha my car is my daily though! Need some mpg even if it is only 20 lol.

Car just flew through its MOT with no advisories! :D

  • Author

Should get some pics up dude of your engine build I'd love to see it

Sure man, ill setup a project thread..

It'll be going nowhere fast! I still need, valves, valve guide, head work, cams, pistons, itbs.

I had the recent misfortune of my old pistons cracking and its £700 for a new set from yankland

Good man looking forward to it!

I have bought a exedy stage 1 clutch now. One came up for a good price so thought may as well have it once the box is open for the LSD

Excellent progress mate. Sounds like a right giggle to drive. I know what you mean about badgers being solid. My mate wrote off his civic fd2 recently after hitting one :(

  • Author

It's great fun. Can't drive it much otherwise ill need a loan for fuel lol.

Ouch really? Bet he was so gutted about that :( :( badgers are actually nails hahaa!!

Yeah he was completely gutted.
