hi all hope some one can help me my octavia vrs has water coming in on the drivers side and dont know were its coming from and how its getting in been to my local garage and they can,t fined it niether some one please help thanks george collins

Where is it wettest (I assume your carpets are wet?) If so you could try a couple of things:

1/ Dry your carpets out (if you have a aquavac you coulod suck most of it up) then put some plain paper roll on the floor (like the blue ones you can get for wiping your hands on/general purpose cleaning type they use in workshops) you'll then see which part gets wet first which will point you in the right direction.

2/ if it's coming from the doors wipe the internal sides of the sealing rubbers from the top down with some more of this roll. as soon as you pick up any moisture your getting close.

3/ check it's not coming from the screen- maybe feel up behind the pedals. In general water runs downward so you should be able to use that to help rule out where it's not coming from.

4/ you could try a jetwash or a hosepipe, wth the help of a mate so 1 of you stays inside to see if any water appears though you'd need to be careful.

apart from that you may end up taking the carpets out to try and find the leak.
