Well just picked up some vw rs8 ?? type wheels basicly been chasing them for a while same as lofty but these are 18's with 225/40/18 et 35

but currently i have spiders with 205/45/17 et 38 i dunno, but i think i'll be selling my spiders as i've had them for a while now

with the et being 35 will the wheels sit more inside the arches or out also the wheels are 1" and 3/4 bigger from ground up

Defo rs8 esp after seeing loftys today after a paint look ace on the car.

Yep those RS8's are reps so will be heavy, & you will feel the difference in power. Also your speedo will be slightly out as the radius is larger. Can't remember who it was on the forum with a red VRS with 19" or 20" Rs8's, but his car looked ridiculous perched on them "like a toy Hot Wheels car". Personally i'd stick with the spiders with decent rubber on them.

thats lloyd above i think, that you are referring to..i am with these guys, reps suck from a performance point of view, they are heavy (not all the same weight either often) and are soft and crack (have had that happen) nowdays i go for 'go' over 'show' so reps are out in my book, either genuines, originals or good quality aftermarket imo

I wouldn't get rid of a set of Spiders that are made properly for a set of reps that most likely will be heavier, a lot weaker and make the car handle worse for it. But that's me. Obviously is up to you but don't be surprised if you end up wanting to get the Spiders back because the A8's have cracked!

OOP's sorry Lloyd. Glad you saw the light eventually. I stuck some R32 reps on a mkiv, looked good, but it was noticeably slower to pick up from a stand still.

well i do like them but i agree with you guys, but i only bought them as the cost of replacing the tyres was greater than what i got the alloys for, i was toying with the idea of selling the spiders for more funds but i think i'll try and refurb my spiders and use these reps over the winter period, i think they look alright and fill the arch more though,slight bit of buffing but thats cause my rear lowring springs are too low for my liking, they are indeed heavier by guestimation of about 2/3kgs per wheel, i'am not looking for proformance as it's a Vrs replica more looks than power at the moment by as time goes on, thoughts change. but the cars not that sluggish that i've noticed.
