I've had a Blue Peter moment on the Yeti

Featured Replies

Well it seems my Blue Peter moment has paid off :)

After plan A went south, plan B is a success.

Hey presto, a set of very cheap hub nut covers. :)

Still using the same spray can tops.

Cut down the outside to 5mm and cut the inside tube 10mm deeper.

Using very dense foam rubber, cut a collar 10mm wide to fit inside tube of cap to make a snug fit around the hub nut.

And press into the tube

Paint and push onto the hub nut

All they need now is a Skoda logo.

I don't feel the need to cover the nuts but the hub nut is ugly and needs protecting rom muck through winter.

Well chuffed and the bonus is they didn't cost me a penny as I already had all the stuff to do it :)

Cracking efforts, works, does the trick, and didn't cost you a penny. You roadtested yet?

In order to qualify for the above Blue Peter badge you should have 5 units:

one for each wheel and one you made earlier.

hhhhmmmm, have you had them tested by TuV for conformance to road standards or am I going to come round a bend on my Fireblade and find a plastic spray can top lying in the road..........?

What happened to Lesley's keks then

You missed the use of the much loved sticky back plastic.... oh I forgot that would be the Skoda badge :giggle:

Not driven yet but thanx for the badge. Always wanted one.

I did make one earlier but it was the plan A design. Pan B is much better.

:D

Next on the list is the coat hanger Xmas candle holder.

With battery candles obviously :giggle:

Road tested this morning deliberately on rough roads. Snug as a bug in a rug :)

Spot on CFB, win win all round!
