Featured Replies

I just got me a new mobile phone - the Orange SPV C500 smartphone, already having a fiddle with it...any one know of any (free) killer apps or games which would while away the next 7 nightshifts?

I did have the E200, which looks like a Fisher Price phone next to the new one. The only downside is that I have to buy a new flash memory card - the C500 takes miniSD and is only supplied with a 16Mb card.

Si, I'll get a link for you, it's where I bought mine, cheapest place for miniSD cards.

Thanks Richard - that's certainly cheaper than anywhere else I've seen...now how many episodes of Scrubs can I fit on a 1Gb card :D

Oh, and they come with a SD card convertor too, so if you have a card reader on your PC, you can just whip the card out and plug it into your PC.

I think T-Mobile do it as well - they call it the SDA.

It can be unlocked from Orange using a fancy little downloaded app

The c500 is really an HTC Typhoon. It is sold under a number of different guises, the neatest of which, currently, is the SP3/T-mobile SDA (different case, T610-like, better joystick). T-mobile sell this with Co-Pilot GPS software, which is probably the main rival to Tomtom.

I've got one of these myself with 512mb in it. Love the Outlook calendar integration for work (meetings etc) and you can do some cool stuff with the phone (MP3's, video etc). I'm looking at 'Podcasting' right now, which is downloading radio shows and talks etc.

The next phone, barring 3G offerings, that I'd be interested in is the Sony Ericsson K750/W800 (the W800 is a 'Walkman' branded version, more funky case and more memory). It's got a 2mega pixel camera as well as MP3 and FM Radio, and is roughly the same size as the T610 (The c500 is the first non-Ericsson phone I've had).

There is a new version of the c500, the c550, coming out soon, has some music buttons on the front plus extras. Try www.mobileburn.com for the latest mobile stuff.

Sorry if I'm rattling on, really liking my phone hardware at the moment ;)

I've got one of these, but I just can't get along with it. Am selling mine as soon as I've found out from swmbo if I can have my old phone back (Nokia 6230) ;)
