Winter Tyres - Will these be too big?

Featured Replies

I've got some Nokian WR G2 235/45/17 tyres in very good condition left over from my Supra - would these be okay to run on the Octavia VRS or too large?

I only ask as it's cold enough for me to switch over, but I can't afford to buy another set of tyres. :(

Providing the wheels on your VRS are 17s and not the 18s and it isn't lowered then I think you will brobably get away with it but I'm sure a VRS owner will be along soon to confirm.

?

Profile looks wrong for a VRS

I ran with 235 wide tyres on my old Octavia MK2 estate, even with normal suspension and three adults in the back the rear tyres kept on catching the wheel arches on undulating surfaces. I would imagine that a vRS with its lower suspension could possibly rub even more. The profile of 235/45 will make this worse as due to the increased diameter.

They'll be halfway between standard size 225/45R17's and the Scout 225/50R17's. I'd run them.
