Tyre pressure indicator

Featured Replies

any body no the correct tyre pressures for a superb elegance estate 140bhp with orig conti tyres?i no that its wrote in the fuel cap,but i only understand pounds :blush:

I have it etched onto the back of my eyelid: if it's 2 people + bit of luggage then 2.2 bar front and rear = 32psi. 1 bar = 14.5 psi.

Dealer checked my TPM today. No error codes, but they think the on-board computer may have been set at 3.0 bar at the pre-delivery check. It has been reset now to 2.2 bar.

I will keep an eye on it an report back.

That's weird as I thought you could only set and adjust the tyre pressure limits in VCDS with the direct monitoring system, (top end VWs, Audis, etc). I'll have to have another poke around the ABS module adaption tomorrow.

Please let me know what you find Arti, as the service front desk started telling me that my pressures were too low, and only when I said they weren't did they actually check with the mechanic - who apparently quickly reset it on com to 2.2 bar whilst I was sat in the showroom.

Well it's back again. Was driving along a country lane, and the tyre light came on. I normally keep 2.3 bar in them vs the 2.2 bar skoda recommends for 18" wheels and low load. So I checked them all at the roadside and they were all 2.55/2.6 bar (I'd been driving for a while). I checked them again the following morning and they were all good at 2.3 bar.

At least it's not happening every week or fortnight, but it's still a pain in the ar$e.

Any ideas what is wrong? The tyre light is solid amber light, and garage first said they couldn't find any error codes but then realised the default hadn't been changed at PDC from 3 to 2.2 bar in VCDS.

Sorry Jake, I forgot to report back. I had a good look through the ABS module on VCDS and I can't find any reference to a defined pressure for the TPM or a way of adjusting it. Hope that helps or maybe just adds to the mystery.
