Just what I need before christmas

Featured Replies

Some ******* **** decided to snap my drivers side wing mirror off last night. Went to the stealers this morning to find out how much it would cost to replace and the result is £207 including fitting with 10% discount. I was quite 'lucky' because the mirror and colour coded cover are ok and dont need replacing. Only the black plastic bit that ataches the mirror to the door and the indicator need replacing.

So until the 20th of the month my mirror is held together with 3 bits of electrical tape wraped round it.

I've not even had the car a month and a half yet and some scumbag has done this to it.

If I ever have the displesure to meet the **** who done this they had better stand by as there head will be ripped off and shoved so far up there arse they won't know whats hit them.

Fuming is not the word....

My sympathy both my last two cars where keyed within months of being bought new. My only consolation was that I would rather be someone who can afford a nice car than someone whose envy reduces them to such vandalism. Does not stop the wish to punch their lights out however.

Gutted for you mate. Can only imagine how you're feeling.

The world/this country is full of @rseholes! it is our duty as responsible citizens NOT to breed any more of them!

This sort of behaviour is more often than not the result of a lack of responsibility on the part of parents who won't/can't be bothered to instill in their offspring a sense of social responsibility - too busy playing computer games/watching meaningless soaps on TV?

It is NOT always the fault of the "system" ...... WE are the system!

I wish you well and hope that your car is soon restored to health,

Rant over,

Dave

Sorry to hear this mate, I'd also want to find that **** who did that!!!

It would be so nice to actually chill out and not worry about our cars getting knocked or damaged by some mindless idiot who think its fun to damage other peoples property. Was you parked outside your house or somewhere else?

Hopefully it wont happen again. :(

Leon

Some ******* ****

Clucking Funt?

Seriously though, there are some total scum bags among the population.....what is the point of doing this to a car?.......probably some scrawny chav teenager being the big man in front of his mates.

Hearing things like this really p*sses me off. It's bad enough when someone damages your car because they don't give a toss/arn't paying attention, but to do it deliberatly really is the lowest of the low. The system really is broke, problem is those who could fix it don't give a toss either because they'll never be in the same position themselves hidden nicely behind their high walls and security gates.

Could be worse I guess and the idiot could have done more damage or you could have been victim of some uninsured hit and run moron, not that it's much help at the mo.

Have a stiff drink before bed.....

It was outside my grandparents house because I had had a few beers so I slept at their house overnight.

The bit that really annoys me is it was done on purpose. With an un-insured driver they dont crash in to you 'because they were bored' or 'I was showing off to my mates' (or do they???). I'm not saying driving around un-insured in alright but in some ways it would be less annoying (apart from the repair bills etc)

It would be great to live in a world where you could park next to someone knowing that they wouldnt open their door in to yours but unfortunatly the world is full of *****.

Moral of the story : always drive home.

JK. Never drink and drive

I know how you feel buddy, had the same thing done to the sisters BMW coupe a while back, the ******* ***** broke and nicked both sides, they snapped the mirrors on their fixing meaning they would have become unusable so i suspect they only wanted the painted back cover but realised it wasnt so easy to just pull off. for the sake of two back covers it cost me the best part of £500 in the end to replace as their quite rare.

Feel for you, I hope you get it fixed in good time.

People showing such disrespect for other's belongings really really annoys me too!

makes my blood boil -you have my sympathy.

have you had a look to see if you can get one from a breaker/ebay to save some money? They are pretty easy to swap over.

Sorry M8 know how u feel had one off my brand new cars keyed all round complete respray. The problem is breaking there legs seems just punishment as far as im concerned but whilst our completely stupid system keeps giving out cautions and community orders this will continue as there is no deterant thats why the last shooting in liverpool occurred an eye for an eye and this is only going to get worse untill somebody in authority starts dishing out proper sentencing.

Talking of vandals.... I've just seen a nice football or something thats put a dent/ scuff of the surface on my bonnet. Someone's obviously checked after because theres finger print wipes over the area!!!! I'm fuming...!!!!!!!! :(

All fixed now :) Was cheaper than I thought it was going to be ad well. Bonus. Only cost £110 because they didn't need all the bits they ordered. Just need it to stop raining over the weekend so I can wash it and get it looking its best again.

Feel for you! I have the exact same colour Blackline and I've had mine keyed a couple of weeks back and a bolt in the drivers side front tryre rendering it to be completely replaced in the first week (I suspect that was just bad luck though).

So I know how you feel!

Scumbags!!! I don't understand why someone would do something like that to someones car.

Talking of bad luck I've got to have my whole dash ripped out to find the fault with my climatronic unit spewing out hot air and trying to cook me emoticon-0120-doh.gif. I am just waiting for when I get the car back and the dealers have forgotten to put something back correctly and I have a horrendous rattle behind the dash emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif .

My tale of woe...

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/258781-climatronic-fault/

On a separate note these these blacklines don't seem to built very well. They have only been around 3 months and me, Chappers, Thehulkster and someone else (their name escapes me) have had problems with them. Not vandalism but actual faults.

Me - Climatronic fault, drivers one touch window not always working and random actiations of hazard lights as if the alarm was going off but the horn didnt work

Chappers - deffo the worst fault - front doors would not unlock at all. The car spent 5 weeks in the garage out of 6 for this problem

Thehulkster - reversing sensor fault (it is quite common on normal vRS's as well)

the other person - not a massive fault but it makes you wonder. skoda badge on the steering wheel was fitted upside down in the factory and it was not picked up until he picked the car up (not picked up in the factory or by the dealers PDI).

I don't know about you but this seems pretty bad considering that there are probably less than 50 blackline owners on Briskoda.

I had the same last year only it was two grand for a new head. 4 weeks before Christmas. Thankfully we had budgeted and already paid for most if Christmas

My passenger side mirror has also been done. Parked in a quiet cul de sac and clearly someone has decided to break it ( it's still attached but appears to be a clean break) with no other vehicle involved as it isn't scratched or anything.

I crunched my wing mirror on the garage, dealer quoted hunderds for a new mirror. On closer inspection is was just the cover and indicator that needed replacing. I got the parts from http://www.skodaparts.com/ (about £50 in total). I just had to spray it up because its colour-coded. Easy to fit.
