hi folks any one got any bright ideas on routing the power supply for bass amps in the boot??? cant seem to find anywhere accessible from engine bay through the bulk head? any help would be most appreciated

What gauge power cable will you be running ? I currently have 4 gauge running front to back however I used a cone cutter my hole is 20mm half way down the bulkhead on the passengerside i then used a rubber grommet and silicone to seal the hole back up

I use 2awg then split to 2x4awg at the rear for amps

Ah I looked at that but if you pull the rubber off you will see a pipe behind it so left it be what ice are you running in your car ?

I bet it sounds nice and clean with all the bass notes having 4 8's ...

Currently I'm running 2 12" mtx audio 5500 on a Sony xplod class d 1600w rms For the fronts I'm running 1 set of eton rs 160 components however when I have a weekend spare. I've got some spare door cards and a tub of fibreglass and another set of Etons to be fitted in the front doors

Then starts the new boot build two 15s and a 4 cubic foot box sealed

Twin 15s are sweet.... I had twin 15w3s in my mk2 golf

Had a single 15w3 in octy..... Fav sub was my 13w6v2 was a beast ( fast hitting , detailed and hard aswell as happy to drop through the floor )

Still have regrets at times :(

I had a 13W6v2 in my corsa but compared to the 2 12W3v2s i had before it i preferred them.

Used to love my old set up in my corsa :( Nakamitchi headunit, PG line Driver, PG EQ, JL 3 ways, JL 500/1 and JL 300/2 and the 13W6v2, but as i said preferred the 2 12s.

sounds really good ... have no regrets! me and my dad are planning 4 12 inch jbl gt5s ported in the boot of his superb as i have 6 sat on my wardrobe begging to be used

.... age doesn't come into it hes not far off 46 if the bass doesent flex the windowscreen its not enough haha however im just a wobble wh*re

Ive found a couple of people with not good veiws of the 13w6v2

I was kicking its arse with the 1200wrms Gmax amp tho so it had no choice but to do what it was told

The 2 15w3s in my golf was abit much lol

Had focal kevlars front and iirc kenwood comps rear to fill in , they were of a phoenix gold xs4600

Then the 2 15w3 were of a mtx 81000d 1500rms amp

That had a thunder eq gain lol and along with that they had the wrath of a phoenix gold bass cube

All up'd via phoenix line driver running 8v to the sub amp

They were brutal lol u could get the back doors pushing out abit lol it was almost bursting

I do think 12s are a nice size, still tight but will drop nice too

I do like my 8s but having recently going fom hi volt preouts of the pioneer to 2 of my new alpine i have noticed a drop.... Still nice tho, very tight and detailed

Id like to swap up to the jl hd amps

But the mrs.....

And my wallet say no :(

I do love stereo.... I just had more need for trunk space

10W7 would be nice, but i couldnt be botherd to do all the dynamatting etc to make use of it all now! Am tempted by a single 12W3 tho!

I went for 8s as i never had a 8 inch sub before lol

And dont take up much room

But then the sound quality never will be great with the speakers configured like that. The phasing will be all to ****. Unless he's got some very clever software in front of the amps and running 4 channels of sub amps there...

Was the speakers that just sounded **** tbh

The subs would only prob total up to like £600 lol

So couple grand and he got it all in i spet lol

Or you could buy a couple orion 15 inch hcca beasts and sit them in a boot and you'd prob kill that hurse

big fan of jl audio myself had a twin set of there budget subs which were amazing in my Honda. but needed really bolting in a proper woofer box as the one i had was too big length wise so they used to move too much and of course bang! then i got the w0 woofer which is ok had it a while and has being the best sub durability wise. got bored of that woofer and got the w3 and loved it !! but forgot to turn it down to wear it in and it was clipping but didn't realize it and alot of money down the drain :( but now thinking of moving either to hertz or vibe but vibes top range.
