Is that the same as an old fabia vrs mate

Is that the same as an old fabia vrs mate

Yes,and,as far as I know,mk1 vRS 16" wheels will fit a mk2 vRS,if that's the question.

I'd like to acquire some, when a set appear near me at the right price.

If you want some 16'' wheels with tyres I think vrsrs has a set that have just been refurbed with tyres that he'll be selling. Worth a pm anyway.

Sorry guys I don’t usually get confused and have read most if not all the threads regarding winter wheels and tyres I am hoping you may be kind enough to put me straight.

I have a 2011 Fabia Elegance Estate 16 TDI 105PS with 205/45/16 alloys and would like to fit steel wheels with winter tyres, I explained this to my son who happened to have a set of VW 195/65/15 but they turned out to be off of a 2007 model and did not fit over the front brake calliper.

I have located a set of Golf MK 4 wheels 5x100 195/65/15 which I understand will/should fit can anyone out there with the required knowledge confirm or otherwise that I am on the right track as what has thrown me when I checked on a compatibility site they say these won’t fit, please help many thanks

Depends on the rims other dimensions.

15" rims for a Fabia II are 6J x 15 ET43 with a stud pattern of 5 x 100 and a centre spigot of 57 as per the manufactures guidelines with either 195/55, 185/55 or 185/60 tyres.

Many thanks The Plumber for that info trouble is the wheels are on eBay and the wheels are at another location so the seller cannot check as the auction ends shortly so it looks as if it’s back to the drawing board as I did not realise there were alternatives to the 15” 195/65/15 MK4 Golf wheels but you live and learn thanks again.

Done a little more digging and it would seem a standard wheel size for this Golf MK4 is 195/65/15 5x100 PCD and ET35 so would assume this would not be compatible.

ET35 could be compatible, it will just push your wheel 8mm further out

You'd still have to be sure that it would clear your brakes though

Thanks Brimma so I guess the best thing to do is take some dimensions from my spare so I can ask the seller next time for the same so I can compare, thanks for your help

^^^

Your spare will probably be shod with a 195/55 15 tyre which will have the same rolling radius as your standard 205/40 17's. If you fit 195/65 15's it will throw your speedo out by a bit. There's a useful calculator here:-

http://www.kouki.co.uk/utilities/visual-tyre-size-calculator

Thanks jim157 I was going to fit either 195/55/15 or 195/50/15 your quite correct regarding my spare but my Fabia is shod with 205/45/R16 as standard from new, was hoping to fit the Golf MK4 wheels as I was informed they should drop straight on but as you see from the helpful posts above unfortunately it does not necessary work like that

^^^

Sorry mate, got you mixed up with the op and his VRS. 195/55 15 will be pretty close to your 205/45 16's, definitely better than the 195/65 15 option.

See if you can pick up a set of Audi pepperpot alloys from the old A3, they're normally pretty cheap (I got a set for £50 a while back) on ebay and gumtree and should fit straight on. Same goes for mk3 Golf GTi/VR6 wheels, they should be cheap and fit over your brakes.

Once again many thanks

Those TT comps suit the Mk2 well.

Hi Brimma, how much and would you ship if I arrange a courier?

Mk1 vrs 16's on Mk2 vrs - straight swap over
