Keeping my baby clean...

Featured Replies

OK - forget the outside for a moment what do you suggest inside.

I have an assortment of cleaners & conditioners for the ivory leather but what about the door cards as they look like they are vinyl although the arm pads may be leather. They are fine just now but it is only a matter of time before they get grubby hand marks and shoe scuffs. What about the dash? I have something for the Columbus screen already but the rest of it will need a spruce up at some point.

Any suggestions?

Martin

I clean up interior trim panels using a stiff brush and diluted all purpose cleaner - something like Stardrops concentrated cleaner.

I then use AutoFinesse Spritz - great on hard and soft plastics.

Hi what would you recommend to clean the ivory leather seats with ? , 3 kids and general wear and tear . Looking for something not too expensive to clean and protect them . Too expensive to get rid of wife and kids so close to Christmas

I use Meguiar's Gold Class - http://www.meguiars....er-Conditioner/ - on the ivory leathers seats in my Yeti. Seems to do a good job and not leave them shiny like some wipes/cleaners can. Available widely on line or from places like Halfords.

I still have a pile of the Gliptone cleaner and also their conditioner left over from the Saab so will use that on the leather - restores the nice leather smell as well. Just wondered about the doors.

Yeah, Gliptone is the stuff! I used it regularly on my last car with leather seats. When I sold that, I passed it on to someone else with leather!

What I've suggested in my earlier post is specifically for cleaning door panels and other bits of interior trim. Sometimes, shoe marks can be a bit recalcitrant. For them, a gentle organic or spirit solvent is sometimes needed, but always go easy - depending on the type of plastic, it may not like the solvent.........
