Fabia Mark1's Funeral - All the Pics!

Featured Replies

:D

We sent Mark 1 Fabia off to heaven in style. However, there wasn't much room in the coffin, so some work had to be done. So, cue a couple of mates, a nice big SWINGSHOVEL and ME behind the controls! ;)

I'm going to add my own silly comments for a giggle.

Last resting place, well actually the penultimate one ;) This has been "storage" since Feb 2004

Just reaching over....

And, whoopsie daisy - Whipped up in the air just like that!

mini-Picture%20006.jpg

Just manouvering into place....

mini-Picture%20009.jpg

and plonked down to remove rear struts (as no dampers allowed in scrap merchant)

mini-Picture%20011.jpg

Here's me just starting to take aim.... :D

mini-Picture%20012.jpg

Just touching her up a little bit, know what I mean? ;)

mini-Picture%20013.jpg

Raise the bucket up a little bit, slew to the right a bit and...

mini-Picture%20014.jpg

BANG!!!!

mini-Picture%20016.jpg

Here's me watching the bucket kick the hell out of the boot area! (note very complacent body language.... arm on knee.... :D)

mini-Picture%20017.jpg

That damn pillar there was as tough as boots - -It would not fold under vertical pressure alone - needed to be folded over from the side. Good sign of build quiality!

mini-Picture%20018.jpg

Trying to smash in the bulkhead here - It was tough as well! :)

mini-Picture%20021.jpg

Well, only one last way to really apply some crushing weight to it....

mini-Picture%20023.jpg

A bit more welly with the bucket... Then...

mini-Picture%20025.jpg

DRIVE OVER IT! (note silly grin!:D )

mini-Picture%20026.jpg

Decided this was pretty much as flat as it was gonna get, so a final shot for the camera then....

mini-Picture%20027.jpg

There it is... The remnants of Fabia Mark 1....

mini-Picture%20029.jpg

.... on the back of a trailer along with another car being scrapped

mini-Picture%20030.jpg

SO, thats it. I'm down to just owning ONE Skoda again. :)

Excellent!

On one hand that would be sad, on the other, christ that must have been fun :D

Looks like fun Jason :)

Are you absolutely certain there was nothing left that you could have sold on e-bay ? Pretty sure the filler cap was still there :D

im sure i saw some clear side repeaters.....

Infact the catalytic convertor is still on there... worth a fortune

Oh, damn - The REPEATERS!!!

Well, I know which metal merchant it's gone to, but it'll probably be a little cube by now. :D

edit: The exhaust was rusting badly, so decided to leave on the shell. Was going to be the last thing removed, but it was in bad condition.

Looks like fun,

Can you remember what furby mk1 looked like before the crash, well here she is in 2003 not long before that day.

No, that car is fine. This is Jasons first Fabia, he had an accident and ended rolling it onto its roof early last year. Various bits and pieces have been sold on ebay and he was left with the shell to dispose of. Come to think of it, if you checkout the items currently for sale by him, the engine and wiring loom are currently listed.

So there's definatly no hope of repairing it then Jason? :P

Nice pic from Duxford there Manny.

Yeah, for comparison purposes, this is what it looked like a few months before the accident - Note tasty veedub 17s. :D

 Ahem, how the hell did that happen? :D

Hit by a bmw then head on into a very large kerbstone did a barrel roll and ended up facing back where she had come from ....quite impressed by the mini though both airbags worked and the cabin is still straight inside....doors stuck though and to save any more injuries they made it a convertable so they could lift her out and up up and away in the Helicopter....she's OK no life threatening injuries .....bye bye to an 05 plate mini one :(

Oh meant to say, don't suppose you have a front wing available to be taken off do you?

I think your a bit late now Richard
