fabia mufflerectomy and decat?

Featured Replies

Hi guys got a decat and mufflerectomy done today. Although im not keen on the sound of it at tickover.

If i had the cat put back in would the sound be quieter? It sounds like its blowing really bad but i guess thats just how diesels sound!

Any advice guys would be good!

Get a video for me mate :)

I've already got a mufflerectomy and I'm going to get a decat done. I'd just get an exhaust place to put a silencer in the system :)

Yeh cant decide really what to do. Whether i get the cat put back in or whether i get a back box made up just to make it sound less like a wet fart lol anyone been in the same position?

I have a no silencer system waiting to go on from piper and its a larger bore, joshh on here told me his was like trying to blow down a large pipe on tick over it just wasn't good but the sound when giving it some made up for it. I guess its just how diesels sound with no silencers in place.

I have just a back box on mine and when it comes into boost sounds wicked all me mates think its petrol but i also have a hybrid turbo lol

I got 2.5" cat back system with 1 tiny silencer in place. It sounds like the exhaust in blowing on tick over but as soon as its rev'd its a nice deep roar noise lol.

Getting decat done in the new year with any luck to free things up a little more.

(Windows are up) going from 10mph - 40mph. Not the best vid as taps are open for all of 2 seconds but gives you an idea lol

Yeh i do like the sound on full chat but i just cant stand the really loud blowing noise you get on idle :p i just wonder whether if i put the cat back in that it would make it quiet at idle but loud when booting it. Any opinions?

Piper with no silencer is the way!

Mine sounds awesome!

My old system was cat and mufflerectomy and it sounded pretty normal on tick over and a deep grunt mid range but higher revs toned down abit.

Love the sound of mine - ths decat and jetex exhaust (1 silencer)
