aye i know its a marmite thing but thats part of the appeal to me, clearly had much spent, has been stripped out entirely and rustproofed then fully resprayed, seen the build thread.

Tidy ... However it's a big loss of space I looked at a few golfs before I got my mk1 octy estate ... Never regretted going with it

What makes you want to change after all the work you've done to yours ?

good question and i think its cos of all the work he done on his, the engine transplant power/turbo mods are really appealing to me

and all i carry is a bucket, its just an idea at minute, need to sleep on it

I agree it's a lot of time money and effort gone into the golf and it does look well not to my taste but compared to the look of your octy the golf looks like a kitten too soft and floppy no real wow factor about it it doesn't excite me but each to their own

Personally I think if you did swap you'd regret it as did I when I sold my old estate and had a stop gap mk3 golf gti ... Then I brought my vRS and for my skoda is the way forward ...

Golf looks gash IMO

octy ftw!

Nice Golf but doesn't quite cut it for me. I'd add my name to support retaining the Octy ;)

having owned both models and engines in different variants.. Dont do it mate! The golf has a very idiotic chavtastic stigma nowdays :( plus, your octy looks better. :) Plus, the pd115 is slow. Even when mapped it aint all that. PD130/150 is where its at!

The opinion i was waiting for

Can't quote from my phone but add me to that list.

Your octy is a good looking car for a grown ass man, the golf is not my flavour at all, though I might have liked it when I was 15 ...

I do like the golf :)

I do like your octy :)

Maybe someone will hit ur octy and solve your issue

Or

Maybe someone will buy the golf before you and solve your issue

I've spent a small fortune on my vrs but i keep looking at other stuff and i have no idea why as i know id loose a fortune on it and regret it if i did sell it,

Keep yours you will miss the space

well it looks like my mind has been made for me.

I had a wee imagine what it would be like selling the octy.................Not sure id be too happy to do it come the time.

So The golf will remain on the market! Now ive made that decision, i think a trip to my mates lockup for a full on waxy polish and tyre shine...............maybe a new colour of wheel, to keep me interested

Nah, don't like the golf.

its a marmite thing

looks more like a lemon curd to me
