2003 Mk1 Octavia VRS - Black Magic - Low Mileage. Swap for Fabia VRS?

Featured Replies

Hi guys :)

Well after a short while I've regrettably got to sell my great condition Octy VRS. I spent months looking for the perfect example in the right colour but I've been informed I'll be doing a lot more mileage in the new year, so I will be getting a diesel. Also this is far to nice an example to hike the mileage on. I've just transferred my private plate onto it as well which is a pain an this will be removed.

I will update this thread with my own advert as soon as I can but its unchanged from the original EBay advert so this is it...

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=190753389239&kw=190753389239

Ideally I'd like a fellow Briskodian to do a straight swap with me for a Fabia VRS, pref black but if not the price is £3300 as it will have a full MOT and 6 months tax as of the end of Jan.

You can message me on here or email me on [email protected].

Thanks

Alan

  • Hope all this waffle is keeping the interest up on your anyway Al.!!

  • Have a free 'bump' on me Alan. Anyone who's owned and luved an AX GT is a friend of mine.. Oh, and if you can chuck a 2.0 170 diesel lump into yours and turn it into an estate, I'll (nearly) gladl

Struggling to understand why you didn't accept the £3300 you were offered on ebay if that's how much you're asking.

Looks tasty anyway, so GLWTS.

Only 7 miles from you btw. ;)

That's the ad from when I bought it mate! lol

This is my only advert up to now :)

Do you really have an AXGT?! That was one of my first cars when I was young and absolutely loved it!! Could I have a look one day? Where abouts are you?

Ahhhh, soz about that!

Yup, I do indeed have a Mk1. One of the very first ones too, reg 01/01/88.

My mate's had it in his garage for nearly 3 years nowm, supposedly changing the fueling system and fitting a new stainless stell back box for me.

Good job I'm not in a desperate hurry for it back, and at least it's in dry storage too, meaning that it's still in fairly good nick.

used to sprint and hillclimb it....quite sucessfully too. :)

Must go and chase him up again in the new year as it really needs track daying again.

You can come with me as a passenger for the ride of yer life!!!!

Live in Little Sutton btw.

Arrr Little Sutton :) only 15 minutes away!

Mine was a 1991 in black, felt like a rocket ship after a 1.3 Escort running on 3 cylinders.

I noticed in a recent post you were considering trading in your VRS? Are you totally set on keeping her now?

Haven't actually got any digital piccies of the AX sadly, and it looks a dusty dull mess sitting in the garage presently.

Going to get it back and try and get it looking as standard as possible again, but it's been 'molested' unfortunately, albeit generally only cosmetically :(

Full respray will be on the agenda I think (venetian red)

Forum smileys don't work for me in here for some strange reason, otherwise it'd be gettin a BIG luv heart from me.

That looks like a late Mk1 to me, yes?

Flimsey as hell, but hells bells, they don't 'arf shift, especially when 'tickled up' a bit. :)

Yea, i was considering chopping mine in, along with the Combo, but only to help fund a fairly late diesel Octy estate for work and leisure...10-14k territory..ish.

Been under discussion here at Ree Towers again tonight, but I just feel sick at the thought of it getting into chavs greasy mitts, especially when I've lovingly cared for it for nearly six years.Still love driving it anyway.

Best car I've ever owned by a country mile, followed funnily enough by the AX GT (owned for 15 years now) and the one I REALLY wish I'd kept, now, a Citroen Visa GTi.

Into modern classics now too! Bought a mint mk 1 chrome bumper Fiesta Bravo last year, blue and silver, so keep an eye out for it next spring onwards when I'll be doing all the local shows again....weather permitting hopefully.

It is indeed a MK1 :) still remember the sunny summer day I picked it up. Memories hey! Can never seen to find any for sale :( it would be a luxury if I ever got one again though.

When my Octavia sells (if I don't get a Fabia as a swap) I'll be after a well looked after Fabia VRS again as I miss my old one. I'll have the cash ready and if you decided to sell I'd promise to look after it, I'm 32 in a few weeks and a family man so no danger of it being chavved up ;) and it'll never want for anything.

The fact I need a family car and that's he's over 7 hours away being minor details of course.

Just pm'd u mate ...

Hi mate, thanks for your interest but I'm not interested in a CatD car. Perfect other than that though!

Isn't cat d only very minor damage Al?

Saw what he'd got and thought the deal was as good as done there.

I presume you haven't been down to a stealer anywhere to see how little they'll offer you in p/x against one by chance...like I did last week.? :(

There you go fellah. No mention of any history though mind.

No probs mate i understand why people would be put off.

I bought the car from a family friend who repaired it to a very good standard though and i saw the damage which was.really minor tbh...

Either way your octy looks superclean pal hope it goes to a good home!

I've got my eye on that one mate :)

Yeah CatD isn't bad at all I'd just prefer one I could sell easy should I ever have to. I have a CatD RB5 Impreza that I'll be selling in the new year.

I wouldn't go near a dealer TBH either at this level a private sale is where it's at I think.

Thanks mate. It's a shame your not a bit closer so I could have a closer look. I'll keep it in mind but I'll see what else is out there for now :)

lol thanks mate. Gutted it has to go :( saying that a Fabia VRS is hardly a step down IMO! More of a different direction :)

Indeed. Have you seen and felt the positve and astonishingly overwhelming luuuurve for the Fabia vRS in the hot thread I started 2 days ago?

No other 'sniffers' yet then I presume?

I've just gone and read the thread :) having worked for Skoda an driven all the cars the MK1 will always be my favourite!

Not had anymore interest on here but will advertise properly in the new year :) no massive rush
