recommend an online tyre retailer

Featured Replies

I've seen a lot of threads on which tyre is the best but not many on the actual retailers. If you have someone you use or recommend please post below.

Also, if you know of one who is doing a particularly good deal at the mo' I need two tyres for my VRS (and I'm open to options on which one if the price is right)

thanks

Chris.

Camskill

That's from my Internet favourites but I have only ever used tyre men which I found very good.

Been using Camskill for a couple of years now and I have to say, even with them shipping to Ireland, the service and price is second to none!!

Camskill for me too, even against buying them trade :)

Event mobile tyres. Fitted at your home or work and reasonably priced too.

Camskill or Elite Tyres.

Mytyres ****ed me off as they wouldn't accept credit card as it was a first purchase.

I always used Black Circiles - until the last pair of tyres when National Tyres were the best price - http://www.tyre-shopper.co.uk/ as they were about 20% cheaper than BC fully fitted....

I've used

Camskill.co.uk/

Tyretraders.com/

Mytyres.co.uk/

Mytyres have a very good selection of winter tyres. Their prices include P&P, the other 2, like most sites, don't. Good serviced from all, however Mytyres are based in Germany and took a little longer than the other 2.

Once tyres were received I took them to a local tyre fitter who fitted them for £10-15 per wheel.

used these guys several times, excellent pricing and service.

I used etyres for my old car. Very good service. Not needed for the Octy yet

Recently bought from Camskill - never purchased tyres online before, but am now a complete convert.

Local outlets couldn't provide quality branded tyres in the size I wanted, and even with delivery plus local fitting still very competitive price for what I was after. Delivered next working day.

Were actually for Mrs GB's Punto not my Octy, but nonetheless excellent service and I value her life and mine far too much to compromise on tyres for the sake of a few quid. Am also fortunate enough that even in these straightened times cost can be secondary consideration.

camskills by far the best

I recently ordered from the below

www.tyretraders.com/

I have used camskills before also and both have provided excellent service. Both companies had the tyres to my door within 24 hours of ordering and at very reasonable prices

openeo.

£54 per tyre delivered for V rated 205/40-17 winter tyres "Nexen" C rated wet grip, delivered from Germany/Poland.

ATS for Michelin summer tyres, as they are owned by Michelin and do good prices and probably the best tyres you can buy.

Just to let you know how things went (if you're at all interested :) ), ended up with some Conti SC5's for £130 fitted. I'd imagine there were cheaper ones out there but that suited me, especially since my main dealer price-matched. I'm sure many will scoff at the choice of tyre but that's for another thread :-D (and 21k out of my front conti 2's tells me they must be at least 'ok') :-D

Not that good, they come up with one choice of 'all season' tyre for an Octavia on upgrade 18's and that's in the wrong speed rating. To top it off they don't even have any in stock.

And Camskills website is poor, the selections down the left side cater for MPV's and vans, what about cars!?

I tend to get the best interweb price I can & Micheldever tyres who are just up the road from me will usually price match.

Worth doing the same with your local tyre companies.

Micheldever also charge more to fit than our local ATS so I take the on line tyre price & add the ATs fitting price to squeeze a bit more out

In the unlikely event you have any problems you only have one person to go to.

camskill for me - always been cheaper than the others for me.
