No Vans, expect VW Caddy size, No 4 wheel drive cars or Haldex 4 wheel drive

The dyno has a small ramp which leads up to it. Any cars which are very low will not get on the dyno. Please check with us first if you are unsure.

  • Was a good day out, although a bit chilly! Only managed to get a few pictures as the camera battery ran out. :(

  • If the Mongrel isnt ready...how about the 106 ..see if it has enough power to turn the rollers

  • That Citroen AX was mad though at almost 300 bhp. That must be fun through the front wheels

Only a severe hiccup with my turbo work will prevent me coming to this. :)

The rules don't say no nitrous, but I shall assume that is the case and leave my bottle at home.

I am pretty certain JKM don't allow nitrous

Funny that as at the dyno dynamics road I have used in Plymouth, they have moaned at me for leaving the nitrous at home, claiming I'm a spoilsport. :D I can understand if it is dictated by insurance.

Fingers crossed El Rapido will be back on the road to make this so I'll put myself down as a runner:

+1. Shouldn't be a problem as it isn't one of the weekends I'm milking.

I'm going to post here to register my interest, I don't want to confirm as running yet until closer to the time, the car isn't ready yet but hopefully I will be ready in time.

Hmmm, cake.

Chocolate sponge cake please

Hi guys,

I have spoken with Kate @ JKM and she would like us to combine our Dyno-Day.

I'll maintain a list of runners on both forums - We have a maximum of 40.

Weekend off sorted so I'm in. One question though, from my Vectra days we used to have to turn the TC off. Easy enough on the 2.5 as there was the TC button to push. I'm guessing it will be the same now with the Octavia, is it all switched off via the ESP button?.

No need to turn off traction control. Traction on the road will not be an issue during the run. :) (Well, it could be for me, but I am hoping my power will be progressive not like a lumphammer)

Sure about that?. Just did a bit of a search and even JKM themselves say they switch it off.

Not sure - the worst thing that my car does at least is when the car senses the front wheels are doing some MPH and the back wheels are doing zero, it throws up the ABS and ASR lights. I don't think killing the ASR alone will prevent that from happening. Once the run is done a quick run on the road usually clears the faults, plus I will have VCDS with me as well.
