Samsung D6530 and ES8000 TV's

Featured Replies

Hi all techy folk !

Got a couple of questions and could do with some advice.

Just bought an ES 8000 for the lounge and moved the D6530 to the bedroom. First bummer, they are both 3D and the 3D specs I have for the D series don't work on the E series, does anybody know if they can be upgraded as they are better quality than the the ones that came with the E series. Second bummer, the E series supports a bluetooth keyboard but the D series doesn't although its meant to be a "smart" tv. Yes you can use the internet but its a pain and slow with the remote. Is anyone aware if it is possible to get it to talk to a keyboard. I appreciate that a TV is not a computer and does not have the keyboard drivers, but would be great if someone has come across this and solved it.

Cheers

Hi not sure if you can but my sony smart tv allows me to use an app on the samsung android phone to use the touch screen as a querty keypad. Its not as good as a keyboard but better than the standard remote as you dont have to press the keys multiple times. It also adds a few neat functions that arn't even on the standard remote. Im pretty sure that a samsung TV should have a similar app for the samsung android phone / iphone if you have one.

Im a bit of a geek so Mine is A Sony 32" ex724 3D Smart TV which is installed on auto lifters in a compartment at the bottom of the bed So its invisible when not in use. Its connected to a Hacked Router working as a wireless bridge so that i don't have to use the USB dongle to access wifi. I only really use the internet on it for Youtube and the odd site so i find the app is more than enough for typing the odd search.

Thanks Scribbler, sounds like it would be good enough for me. I will investigate the possibility when I am communicating with the outside world again. Have not had a phone or internaet connection at home since Christmas eve - some BT fault, so smart TV's are useless at the moment anyway. At least my Samsung S111 allows me to remain in the 21st century.

No problem, if you have a galaxy S3 it will be like having a full size Qwerty keyboard lol.

There are a couple of Android Samsung applications that work with the Samsung D6530, they seem pretty basic but I am sure I saw a part that allowed qwerty input. You may be aware of this already but I'll mention it anyway, allshare on the D6530 and Samsung phones is compatible so you can use it to output media from the phone to the TV and some other clever tricks.

Think it's something to do with Samsung all share, if your phone and tv have it you can connect your phone by wifi
although you may need a dongle for the tv or dvd player that supports the it

Sent from my Galaxy S3, not a Crapple!
