SEAT to get full LED headlights...

...but I bet Skoda don't!

Main Beam Assist is a cost option on the new Leon too...

Seat are the only manufacturer that offer it in a c segment car afaik.

The MkII Leon was one of the first cars in this segment to get LED rear tail/brake lights too.

Although most of the early cars I see on the road are down to only a few remaining working LED's in the outer brake/tail ring :giggle:

And the Passat had rear led indicators and lights..although the latest model appears to have gone back to the old way....cost savings?

So did the Mk5 Golf Plus, but not the Mk5 Golf.

The latest Passat does have LED tail lights too, but this time only the top spec / xenon headlight equipped models.

Although on the plus side for Skoda that does look horrible.

Could be worse I guess...

Fair point not the Octy II best feature but even so not as ugly as that Leon and the Octy III looks good in comparison to either IMO obviously.

At least the MkIII Octavia is an improvement...

Seems we are in agreement on that.

How much when they break?

Too much probably. I'll stick with my incandescent bulbs for a while.

How does it work if a single LED bulb fais? Can you just change the one or does the whole unit need swapped out? I cant see the pictures that were attached unfortunately so i am assuming the main light is a cluster of several LED's.

If its easy and cheap to replace a single LED bulb then it could be a good thing.

We have "GU10" type halogebn lights in our kitchen. Six of them to be exact. They blow quite often. I saw LED replacements for this bulb and though tthis would bve a good idea. problem is the halogen bulb costs 52p whereas the LED i saw cost £8. Stuff that.

If its a similar thing with car headlights then i can imagine the replacement cost would be scary.

I'd imagine its a whole cluster replacement as with any other LED lights in cars that I've seen. Talk about a nice moneymaker.

Hahahaha yeah since when has a manufacturer made it cheap and easy to replace anything? I'd bet on everything being supplied as a headlamp unit. LEDs are a £2700 option on the A6 so that might indicate replacement costs. You'd probably get away with a few duds I suppose.

I think in a few years there will be plenty of specialists popping up who will replace individual LEDs within the units.

£2700?????? Total nonsense to speccify them at that price. Unless the standard car has no lights whatsoever.

Having them on a SEAT is kinda pointless as SEAT is more or less a budget type brand so id rather have money savings elsewhere on the car or spend the additional premium on sat nav or something similar. If SEAT fit them as standard for no additioal cost their i doff my cap to them but i dare say they could sell the same car with normal halogen lights for less money in which case thats the one id pick.

LED's make more sense on a top end premium car where image is everything but not on a SEAT as if image was a major factor in your purchase i doubt a SEAT would be on your list.

Bit odd for a band thats 3 years in a row lost millions of euros!

Looking at the Leon Car Configurator the LED headlights are a £1,000 extra.

They look awful, and if its the same as the LED lights on the Audi range, then when they fail you have to replace the whole lamp as its a sealed unit.

Seat are the sporty face of the VAG group, Skoda are the cheap end so I don't think we'll see those for a while yet at least.
