Anyone tried methanol/water injection

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has tried this on a stock'ish fabia which just a remap? Maybe if timing was adjusted a remap then this might help?

If so did it gain anymore power.

Cheers

WMI can be very affective on FI motors, and is relatively cheap, although you will need to factor in remap costs to get the full benefit. Devils Own have a good reputation.

Hi,

Yeah i have meth system on my other car which i tuned myself (AEM) wondering is any scope on a remapped fabia?

A high water mixture is pretty good at lowering charge temps. But best to have meth too.

Maybe might just help when you run a standard SMIC, but interested in more power.

Cheers

I think Bossfox may have used this on his lovely old SE beast possibly.

Got it on mine (snow performance stage 2) and it is good, But mine is not just a remap. :D

Aim for a progressive kit if possible, that gradually increases injection on boost level.

I did, but it wasn't just a remap. :)

Not sure it's worth it at the lower end of the power scale, but with more extreme mods it has added benefits, like cooling.

On just a remapped car you may gain 5bhp or so... not sure you'd really feel it if I am honest.

I had it on a remap - no power gains.

Needs to be custom mapped ideally.

Good cooling results though, can get below ambient!

Yeah im thinking its likely to add around that 5bhp/similar torque figure maybe more.

Got devils own progressive controller with 2 injection points. Added around 10bhp

I may sell it if anyone is interested? I've just bought a house...

I might be - but your pm box is full! Can you pm me what you want for it? Worth trying again on a hybrid
