Featured Replies

car has been under a cover for about 2 weeks untouched due to the weather. i had been out as often as i could opening the doors and a mini heater and dehumidifier tryinh to dry it out from the leaky doors etc but over the past few weeks i open up to this.

it looks worse than it is on the wheel, hand brake and gear shifter as it just dusts off very easily thankfully. after the work is done its going to be treated to an interior valet and maybe even a change of seats.

That's mad! Furry steering wheel for comfort :D

Time to get it running and it wont have time to mould up then! :)

That's crazy!!!!

Pleasant! Time to investigate!

The cover has trapped all of the moisture inside :)

its 7 years of sweaty salty hands working its way out with the damp interior. needs to fix the door cards asap.

a once over with the hoover and brush add on thing and looks abit better. need to get a stiffer brush to go in the holes. but its an improvment.

i no :( i have it on there to stop the door cards leaking and open it up as often as i can to stop this but in those two weeks its made this happen lol.

Ewwwwwwww

Ergh I feel ill

Can you leave the windows open slightly?

The rears have been open, only about 20mm either side but the cover is pretty tight.

Nice.

Ewww - That just shows what **** we carry on our hands daily... Proven with the picture - On the steering wheel, handbrake and gear stick... If you have had an heater in there with the moist then I would say you have made it an ideal growing ground for bacteria like this.

When cleaning I would HIGHLY recommend a face mask to stop the spores entering you through your nose, mouth!

lol, i just came across this thread after a search

I have noticed some green mould/moss growing on the plastic trim at the bottom of the windows on the outside of my car, is this common on the Fabia??

I guess it's from water just sitting there for a while instead of being drained due my steep drive..

Urrrgh. Only 2 weeks you say!? Time to pull out the driving gloves! Ha.

Sweet baby Jesus.

Old thread I know, but I can tell you now, I'm going to go out and clean the living hell out of my wheel, hand break and gear stick.

Your Display picture if brilliant! :)

That mould pic was used a few days ago by someone on the splitter scuffers fb page asking how to get rid of it i.e like it's their car.

Dave.

I'm just impressed you got it to match the colour of your car!
