symphony removal

Featured Replies

Hi all,

i looking at removing the Skoda Symphony from my 07 vrs L.E. and replacing it with a double din satnav cd/dvd/reverse camera etc.

I wish to retain the 6 cd changer just because it's there and i don't want to tear it out.

Can anyone suggest a cd/dvd and satnav unit that will fit the bill?

if all else fails i will have to get a Chinese one and hope for the best, although i don't think it will support cdc.

best regards

ian

The only headunit that can work the factory CD changer is a factory VW group one. They were made by Grundig specifically for Skoda / Seat /Audi /VW and nobody has yet found another headunit that can control it. The changer has a Blaupunkt connector, but a Blaupunkt headunit cannot even see it. So for a double din unit compatible with changer you'd be looking at an MFD1.

Hi Ian

I had this problem a few years ago with another vehicle, but I bought a head unit with sat-nav, Bluetooth, reverse camera, and SD slot and found

you could get far more on a SD card than on 6 x disc's and of course more convenient.

So what are your thoughts on that idea ?

Radiotwo

I've just left it under the seat if a storage box comes up cheap enough at some point in the future I may take it out. Most if nt all double din units nowadays have mp3 capabilities so i either run DVDs full of music or its the iPod connected up
