Octavia Mk3 Columbus unit

Featured Replies

Looking at some pics of the new Mk3 Octy I've noticed it's Columbus unit has similar shape of Mk2 Octavia Bolero....just wondering if the new Columbus is going to be compatible with Mk2 Octavia's as well..... what do we think? :nerd:

It's already available to see in the new Golf range and I for one can't wait to hear of someone trying out a retrofit.

Oh yes, me too. If it proves compatible with Mk2 Octys then I'll be very keen to get it myself.

In the meantime I searched for a model number and more details in general about this unit but so far I only discovered that it's got 8'' screen with 800*480 resolution....

the old columbus has 6.5" screen, while the new has an 8" screen.

there is basicaly no surround like there is now. it appears to go right across...almost.

i highly doubt you'll b able to retrofit into a mk2.

I think I read somewhere that the new cars aren't using CANBUS or have changed something, thus making most parts incompatible.

They might have combined CAN with a MOST ring, just as in the audis.
