Pattern batteries

Featured Replies

Does anybody know a good place to buy pattern(or no branded) batteries for their cameras, I mean the lithion batteries not AA etc.

I want a spare or two but don't want to pay the ridiculous prices because it says nikon or samsung or whatever brand on it.

Has anyone had any problems with buy these sort of batteries and is there anything to look out for?

I bought pattern batteries for our Pansonic cameras. In comparison to the oem batteries they don't hold so much a charge in cold weather, and even when it is warmer the capacity has dropped more quickly.

I guess I can live with the shorter useful lifetime, but the lack of capacity in cold weather is a real pita.

Most of my similar stuf comes from 7dayshop... Usually good quality and good service

+1 for 7dayshop, I use all canon copy batteries off them, very cheap, higher milliamps than the canon battery and I didn't notice any difference to be honest from the original battery

Some more recent digital cameras will only work with genuine OE batteries in them. Not sure which brands or models, but there are a few out there and they are likely to become more common.

I'd avoid cheap copies from eBay - too many horror stories about melting in camera or frying components (and I do know people that have had problems as opposed to it being an internet myth).

agreed 7 day shop's batteries are fantastic for the price. they now last better than the OE canon batteries

I have bought Duracell batteries on Amazon for my G12 and my daughters 20d. They seem to be ok so far.
