SuperSkoda Twindoor Boot Spoiler

Featured Replies

Like a lot of the motoring press I remain unconvinced by the looks of the Twindoor and I thought a spoiler might finish it off a bit better. The optional genuine Skoda spoiler is a tiny little lip affair and doesn't really do it for me. So question to you all - Does anyone have one of these and might like to post a side and rear profile picture for me?

Nice id like that on mine

Yes that certainly helps with the awful look of the twin door hatch.

They have added to their range since I last looked some 12 month ago.

i like that if i still had one i would buy.

I'd like that as well. I was just looking on the web page, but could not find where you specify what colour you want.

I'm quite interested in this too.

Can you please tell me...how do I copy this link into an email to my dealer to see if he can get one for me? I've tried to just copy and paste it, but to no avail.

Many thanks.

Mike.

Hi Mike, I highly doubt a main dealer would be able to get this since it is an aftermarket part. The only dealer option is a very small lip spoiler. I don't yet have a Superb but I think I probably will within the next few months! Maybe potential for a group buy and trying to negotiate a discount with SuperSkoda !! Remember this is a primed part so will require painting to match your vehicles colour.

Thank you. Thats certainly another option.

Thank you for your input, Peanut. Being as you use the word `Wagon` in your car description I'm guessing you're outside the UK. If so, I wonder if it is the same here as there...where-ever `there` is!

Regards.

Hi Mike, nope I'm in the UK too. I just called it a wagon for some reason or other :-)

Well folks I purchased a 2010/10 Superb Elegance Twindoor about 6 weeks ago and have recently taken the plunge and had the aforementioned SuperSkoda rear spoiler fitted.

I'm hoping that I am the first on this forum to have done this mod, but once you see the pictures I reckon this might start a trend! Pictures, by the way, will be coming later this weekend after the glue has gone off and the positioning tape removed.

Overall I think this is the best mod you could make to a Twindoor. It really finishes the rear end off nicely and looks like it could have been supplied from the factory.

The paint shop was impressed by the quality of the part and SuperSkoda were very prompt and efficient at sending the spoiler - it arrived within a week.

Nick at Airport Bodyshop in Fareham did a brilliant job of painting the spoiler and the cost was quite reasonable as he didn't need to do much prep work, since the part quality was good. The paint match is excellent and it has been bonded to the boot with a polyurethane adhesive (probably tiger seal at a guess).

So after wetting you appetites, pictures will follow soon.........,

Please excuse the quality of the photos, if hasn't stopped raining today. Also excuse the masking tape which is positioning the spoiler whilst the adhesive goes off - plan to remove later today! I think the spoiler really finishes the car off nicely, I am really happy with it!post-43603-0-73690100-1364037287_thumb.jpgpost-43603-0-36233500-1364037306_thumb.jpgpost-43603-0-17468600-1364037320_thumb.jpg

Sorry to be a pain, Peanut, but is there any chance we could see a pic or two from a distance away...5 or 10 yards...just to get a different perspective. I'm very taken with what I can see so far.

Regards.

Mike.

Looks good. My 2.0TSI came with the small lip spoiler, which does improve the look, but yours is better.

Hi Mike, absolutely, I fully intend to take some better pictures once it stops raining!

Oh and another benefit is that you can see the spoiler in the RVM so that you can better judge distance in a situation where maybe you don't trust the parking sensors!!

That looks great! Lifts the rear a little bit so it's not so sloppy/melted...if you know what I mean?

Cheers Leon, I have to say I am chuffed with the result. My budget wouldn't stretch to a Superb Estate, so the hatch was my comprimise car and I was never that sure of the looks, but I do think this makes it so much better.

Looks great and really finishes the rear end off nicely, Skoda should have done that from day 1 because IMO the back end of the Twindoor is a real let down.

Much improved now!

does that spoiler affect the motion of the auto boot release i n saloon mode?

  • Author

Hi Racing Boy, not quite sure what you mean? As far as a I can tell the boot release functions as per normal - it's not a very heavy spoiler, it's a hollow resin based affair.

  • 6 months later...

How much did it end up costing including shipping (excluding painting and fitting)?

If you don't mind me asking

€89.99 EUR plus P&P I'm assuming?
