Sticking vane problem NOW WITH LOGS

Featured Replies

Got any more than just 11 seconds? boost seems OK there between specified and actual. Best thing to do is stick it in 4th gear where there is room, and hoof it from 1500rpm to the redline. :) One gear, one WOT

Maf readings out of upper limits there?

Log was done in 3rd from 1500rpm right through to redline! Cant do 4th on uk roads ;)

Are the maf values okay?

Log a group at a time. Get much better/useful sample rate. Do group 3 and 11 but separately.

Initially this log shows brief over boost but then settles down. MAF looks fine. But best doing them again 1 at a tune.

I'll get a lead off ebay and have a bash

Will do some from cold. Might be a bit more telling

But generally it looks okay

Maf readings out of upper limits there?

It does seem to have a non genuine maf sensor on it?

No 1249 is a diagnostic display value limit not MAF sensor limit.

This has gone above my head now lol...

:o

Lol :)

But it seems to be all good in the hood....

First impression yes. But be good idea to get a better log to say for sure.

So 2 runs. Group 3 in 1, 11 in another. From just below 2k to redline.

Okay i'll update this when i get a cable

Will do some from cold too! Which should be all over the place! Odd one for sure

Feels slow as **** compared to mine ha!

Do you think a faulty thermostat or sender could cause the problem since there must be calibration tables in the ECU to dicate fueling etc depending on coolant temp etc.

Other than that just failing hardware i had an issue at work and it turned out a network switch was a fault, once turned off after 45 min it would refuse to come on until hours later when it had warmed up! couldnt believe it!

Its only a 150 you know! But has a garret vb turbo and fmic as standard so :p

:p :D

Good job you dont have your hybrid anymore

I'm sure a remap could sort that :)

In the ECU the fuel timing maps are based on coolant temp. Depending on the table used and figures can alter the fuel duration maps.

If the CTS is mildly knackered it can cause problems without triggering a fault. i.e. if it is telling the ECU the wrong temperature but within the right limits then it wouldn't log a fault, certainly when the CTS went on my old octy it only threw a fault every once in a while but the idle was all over the place a lot more often.

If the CTS tells the ECU the coolant temp -145 then the ECU will think something is wrong, but if is saying 90 when its 80 then it won't.

Assuming of course that the CTS on your Leon is the same as fitted to the mkI Octy.

Yup im sure a remap would sort it out. Dont want to be getting overtaken by a lowly mapped fabia now ;)

Bought a cable off ebay so hopefully do some cold logging this week.

got another one when cold

2 runs

the first one seems to show a big overboost, and the 2nd log once engine has warmed up by a few degree's its okay, showing my issue is only when cold, the overboost also when cold sometimes causes my limp mode problems

if somebody could have a look it would be much appreciated

Loving the super low intake temp :)

You really need to log 1 group at a time. If you look at the time, each updates is 1.2 seconds later. A lot can happen in 1.2 seconds. If you do 1 at a time if will be much faster and better chance of noticing errors.

We're both done in 3rd gear?

The duty cycle was pretty high on the first run, lower on the second. Have you checked the actuator is moving freely?

I see what you mean...

Ive been advised to try a new n75 valve... I did clean the turbo out and moved actuator until it was free. It had a slightly gritty feel to it before hand

fitted revised n18 and n75 valves, no difference

couple of new logs

4th gear, intake pressure

specified is in blue

actual is in red
