More like BSE :D

Hmm, quite fancy one of these. Jabba remapping them yet? 310nm of torque is just not enough :D

How do you convert nm to lb/ft?

assume will give similar results to other pd130 cars

? truck torque.. more petrol like power delivery...

Nm to lb/ft?

Multiply by 0.73756.

Brought to you by the power of Google.

Phil

232 lb/ft? Not bad in a Fabia :D Needs more though:D

Given the use of the vRS badge, I would have expected it to see off a 4X4 - but glad to see that it can't! :D

Not as standard anyway. ;)

Still not sold on the idea of a hot hatch diesel... must be showing my age :)

Not that it will stop me trying to get a test drive....

The Fabia vRS is to be test driven in the Sun's motoring column tomorrow (aug 1).

Will the write-up be on page 3? :)

Shouldn't think so.... can think of a couple of point's why not ....... :censored:

p.s

Denis - thanx u know y

The Sun "report" can be found here .

Not very complimentary but hardly a surprise as the writer appears to be a big fan of Max Power

Not complimentary in the slightest, but I think she was missing the point. And yes, there's brand snobbery, and with a surname of "Parker Bowles" I imagine she isn't someone upgrading from a Nova. And she's spoken to an expert at some boy's mag who has said it would be really bad at cruises - but surely turning up with a standard Corsa GSi as a cruise would be a similar faux pas?

I guess she was after the wrong thing from the car!

Rob.

As an example of the Ms Parker Bowles' car interests, I found this article written by her - says it all really  Bet she's the sort that would like those particularly nasty front spoilers that Erik posted in the other thread :D

Extremely funny article...not sure whether she wrote it meaning it to be humourous, but she did a good job all the same... :)

Legs has been a boy racer for 18 years and is something of a spokesman for cruising.

I read the article and some of it reflects my views:

1) "Skoda have no business calling it an RS" - It really ought to have a 1.8T engine.

2) "Come on Skoda, pull your finger out" - Damn right. Their attitude to tuning, their lack of a four wheel drive Octy vRS, their rather pitiful Fabia vRS spec.

The rest is girl-racer wannabe tripe.

I'd be inclined to give it the benefit of the doubt and decide from driving it! Maybe Skoda were sick of replacing coil packs... ;)

Rob.

Rob, according to Skoda there is no problem with coil packs

Needed to be 1.8T and 4x4 though.

Still wouldn't say no if someone donated one to me for mileage and modification testing. :D

Jon

Would it really need to be 4x4 though? People seem convinced the vRS is faster than a 4x4 on any surface that doesn't involve ground clearance, so why should it be an issue if the Fabia vRS isn't 4x4?

Can't really comment on the engine as I'm not familiar with the characteristics of the 1.8T, but it's pretty common these days for performance hatches to have large turbo-charged engines, but very few to have diesels. Niche market, perhaps?

Rob.

Some trivial information about a trivial person:

Emma, 25, is the niece of Camilla Parker Bowles. She has met Prince William only once, but it was reported that they were seen kissing. Emma is an ex-model and recently receivede help for an addiction to Valium.

QED

Denis - I think that's irrelevant, having read her articles it's obvious the only reason she gets work is because she is both knowlegable about her subject and has an unsurpassed talent for using the English language....

Rob.

A friend of mine who works in slovakia has said the list price for a fabia vrs is

To quote myself, in another thread....

Just to keep you all up to date. It has indeed been ordered (on the 1st of August) and should be in the country the first week in September. Aparently the fist to be ordered for a paying customer!

Also ordered was the plate to go with it ##53 VRS. :D

Still available to anyone purchasing a new vRS this september is MY53 VRS, from here . Just type in the reg you want and up it comes available/unavailable.

It will have the windows blacked out just like TAZ, (Red Octi vRS) and will be Jabbered when she is run in (if you have to with Diesels). and Black Magic paint work.
