Lets hope so but in typical skoda dealer fashion I asked for the grey seat colour and I get red lol kind relieved though as red should stay cleaner

Looks smart, seats look great. Although is something on the drivers seat?

About 6 years ago, I ordered a Fiesta with dark blue seats. It was delivered with dark red seats. Whilst I didn't dislike the red seats, they weren't what I ordered. I complained to the dealer and negotiated (with some difficulty) 2 free services. So some compensation but the car was so bad that I got rid of it for a Skoda after 18 months. But you get the idea - ask for something 'for your trouble'. The dealer can only say no.

I have to complain to the leasing company which I will give ago and as you say if you don't ask you don't get!

Consider yourself lucky. Back in 2009, I asked for a black car and they got me a white one... Had to wait for a fresh factory order! Absolutely ludicrous!!! And I never got anything "for my trouble"... (I did ask)

Looking back now, I should have accepted the white one. It probably wouldn't have started to rust after just 2 years, like my black one has.

Anyway, here's an idea for you. I saw the photos of your car without plates on, and I was reminded of mine. As soon as the car transporter delivered my car (the correct colour this time) to the dealer, they called me to go there and sign something to get it taxed. Naturally, when I went, the salesman said my car is round the back, and I could go have a look at it, which obviously I did, and took photos as well. First thing I checked was the odometer, which read 5 miles. A few days later, car taxed, plates fixed on it, plastic wraps off the seats etc. and the car was ready to pick up. Went there, checked the car again, however the odometer read 8 miles this time. I asked why. They said they took it to a petrol station, it's their policy to give cars out with the tank at a third full. Oh well, I said. I was actually very unhappy about that, but it was early days and I had no idea at the time about the horrific practices of skoda dealers (well, most dealers it turns out), so I let it slip through.

Now, here's why I was very unhappy about that. Very close to my workplace, there is a BMW and Mini dealership, a Mercedes one further down, and a Seat one further down still. Sadly, nearly every day, I see techies or valeters taking brand spanking new cars to the petrol station further up the road. Some without even plates on, when it's early in the morning. And those imbeciles beat the living daylights out of these poor cars, they literally thrash them. Every single time I see them! If it happens to be an M car or an AMG version of a Merc, as soon as the car exits the forecourt, it's STRAIGHT TO THE REV LIMITER!!! It's just ridiculous. But I'm fairly sure it happens with many dealers.

Some may think I'm being too anal, but when I pay a certain amount of my hard-earned for a car that I plan to keep for a while, I demand that they respect that.

So mstafford1986, I know yours is a company car, but if I were you, I would ask them not to take it out for petrol. Just an idea though...

I think you're right, whenever i pick up my diesel golf up from my VW dealer I pick it up with the ave MPG at 25mpg and it takes ages for that to get back up to around 35mpg. For comparison I struggle to get it below 40mpg when driving with a little spirit, so christ knows what they're doing it to.

Last time did make me actually laugh as I took it in for a creaking noise, how they managed to listen for that when screaming the nuts off it.

Let alone when they put them on/off the ship that carried them here to our fair island :)

I agree with you 100%, I know it's a company but it a family company and I have to bring in the money to pay for it so it feels like its me paying for it. Where I work is where Belfasts main car dealers are so I see the mechanics blasting the cars all the time. Just before Christmas the bosses Passat went in for a service in the morning and at lunch while at a burger van just outside work his poor Passat when squealing past to my amusement, just couldn't help but laugh!
