coolant temperature sender question

Featured Replies

my sdi 2002 (mine from new 164k) is running too cool so im going to do thermostat ,think i may also do the coolant temperature sender as its been known to drop to zero then come back ,my question is would you stick to dealer part (for the sensor) or is there any ebay sellers i could trust or cheaper part places?

Definately do both with the symptoms you describe. The sender will be messing up the fuelling. Skodaparts.com are good on line-Skoda dealer, good prices.

£42.99 delivered from Rainworth (Dealer) for both with a 2 year warranty, you could get it cheaper from TPS but the savings are likely minimal.

anyone know where the location of the sensor is on a SDI alos is a two wire one?

Left hand end of cylinder head. No idea about the wires. I would suggest you do the 'stat at the same time unless it has been done recently as it saves on cooling fluid when you find out the 'stat is dodgy as well.
