Citigo Vagcom commands confirmed

Featured Replies

Can someone confirm the coming home light code? I have tried STG09/Byte10/Bit2. the code is accepted but no luck in activating the coming home.

Just to make sure I'm right where is the ambient light sensor on the Citigo. I Don't think it's in the Citisafe sensor as this would not work with cars without that option.Do you have to leave the light switch in the side or on position?

  • Not sure yet about 80ish miles Might (take) you (up!) on it - no pun intended!

If you wish all doors to unlock when the ignition key is removed from the steering lock then code STG09/Byte0/Bit3.

Not sure if this only works with the lock when speed >9km/h function code STG09/Byte0/Bit4 is set.

I think the ambient light sensor is built into the instrument cluster as there is a sensor there which controls the lighting of that.

Cheers Feebet,

Will have another go at coding the coming home lights.

Well its amassing what can be achieved when you have all the facts?

OK so coming home/Follow me home lights (Fogs/DRL's) requires the coding STG09/Byte10/Bit2. However, to activate them requires the driver to pull back the headlight stalk (like you would to flash the headlights) when the ignition has been turned off.

Bingo coming home lights that turn off after approximately 30 seconds

A couple of extra options i found searching the UP forum are

Parking lights STG09/Byte13/Bit0 and 1

Disable DRL's STG09/Byte23/Bit6

Cornering lights with turn signal STG09/Byte21/Bit2

Channel 43 to change comfort turn signals from 3 to 5 blinks.

Have you looked on the VCDS owners map? (link in my signature)

I am nr Folkestone if that is not too far?

I'm in Eastleigh Hants, if that is closer?

Just wondering do alterations made with the VCDS invalidate your warranty?

Why don't Skoda enable all these great functions?

When I quizzed Skoda UK on the same issues they replied and said that some options are not specified for the UK market and so not switched on. I can't see why switching a feature on would cause a warranty issue unless you had to fit/modify the car. I have several of the features enabled on our Citigo and when it has been in the dealer nothing has been said?

Went to see my new Citigo Sport yesterday and handed them the list from the sticky post and asked them if they would enable them. They said no problem and they will all be done before pickup on Monday :D this was Blade Skoda in Gloucester

Let us know how it goes?

Interesting to see what happens if they do them or not?

Will do mate! Not long now :-D going down at 12:00 tomorrow to get it!

Just wanted to update this thread. I was asked by a friend to activate a few functions on his VW Up........tear wipe, auto lock, auto unlock.

I have version 12.12.0 of VCDS, and on this version all the functions mentioned in this thread (and a few more) are all now able to be accessed via the adaptations section of the central electrics module. Long coding no longer needed.

I had a look around in the other modules and could even disable the stop/start function.....although that did produce a constant warning on the instrument cluster which I couldn't work out how to cancel....so I re-enabled it.

I have an earlier version of VCDS which does not have the descriptions for each code. Any chance of a screen shot from yours?

I was wondering if its possible to enable a beep when I lock the car as on my Ocky. I did wonder if that was through the alarm?

Are you using a genuine Ross-Tech interface? If so simply download the latest software.

If it is not genuine then you are a braver / more stupid (delete as necessary) person than me to make ANY changes without a description of what that Bit is changing.

Bear in mind the software will have been hacked .... what else have they done to it??

If you still decide to do this then the bear minimum you need to do is to make sure the part number for the controller that you use the screen shot from is IDENTICAL to yours!

NOT ALL VCDS ADAPTATIONS ARE REVERSABLE.

As Gizmo mentions, you can update the software any time for free.....assuming you have a genuine cable.

I don't actually own a Citigo/Up, but was enabling a few functions on a colleagues VW up. So I can't get any screen shots. From memory, I think alarm beep on locking was an option but can't say for sure.

All adaptations I did on the Up was through the pre set adaptations for the Up/Citigo available in the latest version of VCDS......I have no experience at all of long coding on the Citigo/Up and I would say long coding is largely now obsolete on the Citigo with the functionality that the latest version of VCDS offers.

STG09/Byte14/Bit3 Comfort Function for Rear Wiper active  -disabled, and confirmed.

It's the function which wipes rear window when you engage reverse, when your windshield wipers are on. It may sound a good feature, but it's not always. If rear window is dirty, it would be better use some washer fluid when wiping rear window. Dry wiping or wiping without washer fluid would destroy wiper and scratch the window. :nerd:

Is it possible to code the tail lights to come on with the DRL's?

Latest VCDS-version have this option. Sorry, I didn't tried it as I don't need it. If I need tail lights, I put driving lights on. :sun:

I enabled cornering lights as well. It was a bit frustrating at first, as I didn't know that engine needs to be running before cornering lights can work. :wall:

Edit: I also enabled "coming home" lights. I could not get it working with fog lights, but with driving lights it works.

How did you get the coming home lights on? I have this enabled and it just doesn't work, I think it's probably because you need a certain spec car or ECU?

Light switch off. Turn off the ignition, take out key from the steering lock, flash your high beams, and when you open the door, dipped beams are on some time.

We have 2013 Ambiente, and 2015 Elegance, both works the same way.

You may have to choose driving lights for coming home lights. By default it's trying to use fog lights as coming home lights, but I could not get them working.
