Old faithful off to a new home

Featured Replies

Just going out to remove all my stuff out of old faithful before it goes off to a new home tomorrow.

After 4.5 years of ownership she has covered 227,000 miles, and only let me down once when the cam shaft went, but that cost £600 to rectify with a hardened version along with all the lifters.

Got rid of the DMF not long after I got it, and changed to a single system that only recently the clutch only was replaced, so anyone in the Glasgow area check out the auctions and you will buy a good car, leaving the leather interior in as I dont have the old seats

1 camshaft and lifters

2 1 clutch system and 1 clutch only

3 a full set of shockers

4 1 set of discs all round

5 1 rear caliper

6 1 clutch master cylinder.

7 front tyres every 30 K rears at 60 K,

8 timing belt and water pump every 70K so just changed

9 serviced every 10K

So in all not bad for taxi mileage.

Jobs that may need doing, a new electric fuel pump as its a bit erratic at starting sometimes, and a new clutch pedal as it does not come right to the top as the spring is broken , both will cost no more than £50 to sort or cheaper from a breaker

I'll swap you cloth seats & cash for leather?

So what's happening to your Columbus? I don't live a million miles away and may be interested........

Though no idea if I'd need a new gateway, etc, etc.

Well done Octavia :)

Enjoy your Superb. Hope all goes well.

Hi mate, spoke to a mate of mines that's actually intrested in your car, he's gonna contact Kennedy cars tomoz.

In your opinion, would the car make it back on the road as a taxi again?

We've got a council we use up here that lets us plate any age or mileage. Providing the bodywork is sound.

What spec is the car?

What other extras are with the car, obviously leather as mentioned, anything else? Is it a hatch or estate?

Its a 1.9 tdi classic estaite leather interior black, bodywork good, one small area next to rear ns pasenger door needs the plastic coating stuck back down, or pulled off and replacedPICT0021.jpg Yes it can go strait back on as a taxi, once the meter is fitted or if its to be a PH it can go strait to work once your council have tested it, I had to cut the meter wire and tape the remainder as I did not know how to remove the clocks to get to the other end

My mate called Kennedy cars, prob won't get a deal off them, offered the guy a quick turn around, £1200 & guy basically shot him down, sounds like a complete bellend tbh.... Think the guy is forgetting the car has 227k on the clock.

Wish you had posted it up for sale on here, it woulda sold no probs

G

Your man at Kennedy cars wants £2000 for the car, seems like abit of a joker tbh lol

All the best with the new motor Skippy.

How come you didn't try a private sale on here first, out of interest?
