Presume this will replace the Fabia Estate in the lineup then?

Well.......disguise or not 1st impression is that it looks as dull as dishwater. :(

What exactly do you expect from an estate? The devil will be in the detail, the overall shape looks pleasant enough.

Sportback, Spaceback, Liftback, Avant, shooting brake, etc etc.

Why are manufacturers trying to come up with different words for Estate and Hatchback ?

Skoda - Combi

Skoda - Liftback/ Notchback/ Hatch

Skoda - Twindoor

and new to the family...

Skoda - Spaceback - umm not sure why they are not calling it a Combi. Unless it's got variable seats and they can be taken out/ possibly a glass opening as well as the boot?

Yeah, I hope when they said they weren't going to make a Rapid estate that the only thing which would be different was the name!

I hope that they include either fold-flat or take-out seats in the Spaceback version. Slopey folded seats in an estate just look half-thought-out. But then I am a Roomy owner !

Still don't quite understand what it will be! Is it a Fabia? Is it a Golf? Is it a Rapid Estate? Looks like a blend of all three...

Looks like a Fabia Estate - even zooming in.

You can see it's slightly bigger than the Fabia/ Fabia Combi thats in the inside lane. Looks like it might be interesting, however the video clip doesn't show much other than it's slightly bigger than the Mk1 Fabia, and shorter than a Rapid!

More please!

Testing new Fabia MK3 estate maybe? :)

Do you think it is shorter than the normal Rapid?

I like the stance of it, looking forward to seeing the real thing.

dont see why skoda need to put this in the lineup? an estate would have much more sensible and practical.

Looks shorter in the video, like it's lost the rear hatch overhang?

Oh yeah, suppose it does a bit. Maybe half way between a Golf-sized hatchback and a combi?

A possible mash up! Lets hope its something special rather than literally a short Rapid.

We've already got the Fabia, Octavia and Superb Estate though, so I hope the Rapid spaceback is something a little bit different.

Only just seen that vid and I thought it was a Fabia.

Isn't the spaceback going to be a Rapid Estate, that doesn't look like an estate, could be wrong though.

Think it's going to be a small estate, like the A3 Sportback - bit of a halfway house between a Golf sized hatch and a Rapid estate.

I don't understand the confusion guys, the Rapid Spaceback will be Skoda's Golf. I know they said it would be different but I don't buy it, it will be just a Golf equivalent, and no, it won't be an estate. What a disappointment it will be.

What a disappointment it will be.

Ahh, good to see the aussies getting into the Briskoda negative spirit of things.

Would you prefer another straight estate? There has to be something different about it or it is going to tread on the toes of the Fabia estate too much.

Do you reckon the new Fabia will be substantially bigger than the old one then? According to Parkers the current Fabia estate capacity with the rear seats up is only 480 litres, that's still smaller than the Rapid saloonalike.

I wonder if they will just replace the Fabia Estate with this
